********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

I've been ill the last few days, sent quite a few texts and had a few phonecalls and not done much else and it's lasted this long.

That really isnt much usage in 5 days?!

I didn't say it was, because i have been ill i have not really used the phone that much bar a lot of texting and some phone calls and a bit of web browsing.

If you had seen some of the peoples usage, some people only get 1 and a half hours more and were running out of battery mid afternoon.

So even with not much usage, it shows my battery is performing considerably better than when i first got it.

/edit in response to Robbo, not once was the phone turned off or put in flight mode, it has been standby when not used and sat on my desk with 4/5 bar reception.

damn, what have you turned off?

5 days standby with still 20% left?? I think if I left my phone for 4 days and did nothing at all, it would still be dead faster

edit - also, what ios 5.0.0. or 5.0.1? Or something else?

I know that, I was joking.

My point is that most smartphones will achieve 4/5 days of use if you barely use them at all. However, barely using them makes having one somewhat pointless.

Used mine abit today, though mostly for music.. Quite a lot of texting though. 28% with 8h 30mins standby and 3hours 30 usage. Seems a bit high usage as always. But that is probably about right considering I have been listening to music. But it shouldn't drown that much battery!

I have the all the normal things mentioned in this thread turned off, from Time setting using the gps to a few other things which have all been mentioned.

It's ios 5.0.0, seems to be getting better! :)

When i finally put it on charge it had 3hours 22mins usage and 5 days 15 hours standby.

Yeah i normally use mine a lot more, but due to pretty much being ill i haven't really played around with it as i normally would.

It's just nice to know it will last if i don't hammer it and am not around to charge it.

Maybe you just got lucky.

Ive hardly used mine and its currently on 10 hours standby, 1 hour usage. Battery is on 80%. i reckon ive 'used' it for no more that 10 minutes... That works out at 2 days standby, must have got really lucky for a 5 day standby one

Interesting - mine is now on 13 hours, 12 mins standby
1 hour 10 mins usage, 70% left

10 minutes usage and its gone down 10%

Wouldnt this mean that 100 minutes usage is all I would get?

Battery stats seem all over the shop to me!

I wasn't looking at the iPhone 4 one, but I can just imagine a lot of posts were about the death grip?

Anyone got anything else to say about the phone then ;)?

Best phone I have owned by a country mile and makes me quite sure that I won't be going back to android for a while now. The screen is fantastic (as it is on the iPhone 4) and the resolution lovely. You can actually read small text on it because of the pixel density.

Speed is lovely and the connectivity seems much better than my nexus one ever had. Haven't had much of a chance to play with the camera or video but from what I have seen, its pretty good.
