Apple only does one version.
Therefore it has to appeal to the masses unlike android where there is plenty of options. I'm not convinced most people want a bigger screen. And if we do see a bigger screen IMO it'll be 3.8" maximum.
That's the problem, apple doesn't have choice and as such they pander to there core audience. Which has worked very well and continues to work for them.

As for people saying well fit a bigger screen into same case and have it going to the edge of the case. Terrible terrible idea, which never works as it's a Touch screen. It would. Drive you up the wall instantly.

A 4" screen device would only be slightly wider and the same height (if not a tad shorter) though, so it's not as dramatic as the size of the 4.3" phones that are around now.

But yes, your post (and many others) demonstrates why Apple will never start making phones with big screens, 4.3"+ is too big to have as a universal size.

I feel exactly the same way - like a bigger screen but dont want the form factor to change. I dont agree that something thats 4"+ dramatically improves usage - though anything near 4" seems an acceptable norm

I wouldnt buy the next iPhone if its form factor becomes too big just to accomodate an unnecessary large screen...

you don't have the stats on females so don't make sweeping judgements. I know plenty with bigger screen phones than the iphones. They get used to it no problem.

I believe they would have a lost a small percentage of their buyers for keeping the same size. At the end of the day the consumer will have to make a choice to stay or move.

Thats not how iOS works though, so you shouldnt really be having a problem. Apps go into a suspend state, not continue to run in the background. Mine chugs every now and then, but day to day its fine.

But once you starting going wider and shorter it will start to look like a blackberry! And to square!?

Stop whining over the new phone not having a big enough screen, the Iphone 4 screen is big enough anyway.

Some people are just never happy.
