Going through the settings, it seems that one or all of the advanced settings could be to blame for the clocks dipping, was in the game with +15 on the power management and didn't see it drop the clocks, and that was with all the advanced options set to off (long shadows hi res shadows hi res streaming while flying, and the ext distance scaling and extended shadows sliders to zero). Gonna check with power on default to see what happens. Strangely enough i didn't see much in the way of fps improvement, though i did notice that the cores got hotter as the clocks weren't bouncing around
Could it be a CPU limitation? if the CPU can't keep pace the GPU will slow and wait.
Thank you for the information guys, I'll ensure it goes to the right people.
could u look at that link matt cheers

loads of probs with amd lappys

Thanks Garfo. We're aware of issues that affect Intel laptops with switchable AMD/Nvidia graphics cards. As i understand Rockstar are working on a patch which should hopefully correct this issue.

2560*1440 Very High+FXAA+AMD CHS.
I played a little time, runs very smooth, good job
picked up another 7950 yesterday, does anyone know how it plays on 7950's
I'm running 3 watercooled 290's and seeing between 40 and 60% usage. 15.4 drivers, 1080p downsampled from 1440x2560 on a 60hz monitor, MSAA at 2x, most other bits maxed / close to max.
FPS in GTA V is very varied, sometime going down to 40fps. Doesn't seem right to me given what performance I am seeing others appear to be getting.
Tried with vsync on and off. Anything else I can try?
Is this a driver issue?
Matt, I'm still having issues with the corruption in the bottom right-hand corner. The problems in the video have disappeared. Also seen another person in the official GTA thread with the same issue.
Does disabling AA (normal and reflective) solve the issue?
MSAA appears to be the culprit. Disabled all AA and it disappeared. Enabled FXAA and reflection AA and it stayed away. Enabled MSAA and it came back.
Matt, yes it's only ever in the bottom right corner of the screen, and it's only there when I have MSAA on (this is with 2x, but it's exactly the same with 4x, or 8x). I can drive around, run, swim, die lol, and it's constantly there, although it does change slightly depending on the background (but only ever in this location on the screen)... See Screenshot
