Did you see my post! Any idea what the problem is?
Any ETA on driver for dying light or any tips to get it running better?
Even after the new patch Its still doesn't use anything on my system to 100% so so assuming there is a problem somewhere.
I've packed my 970s up to send back and went back to my 290 and GPU usage is showing 100% and temp up to 73c with fans hitting 93% :|
Any updates for crossfire on dying light yet, getting stick of waiting...
Have you tried it since the latest patch? Game is running much better for me at 4k now.
Update - Did a memtest, all passed perfectly, then tried card 1 on it's own and got great results eg hitman 48, 94, 64 and almost identical results when I tried card 2 on its own in slot 1. Then when I use crossfire with two cards, the performance increase is practically 0, and the Hitman benchmark hitches like crazy and almost stops with lows of 1fps.
I really have no idea what to do :/
Also, with 2 cards, it even makes games hitch in the menu 0___0
Manually set it to x4, had better performance on 1st run but 2nd run hitching and barely loaded with minimum 1fps.
I doubt it's my motherboard since before I ran sli 970s.
What happens if when running a game you press Alt+Enter, wait a few seconds then press it again?
Tried metro, runs nicely![]()

Hi Matt
Sometimes when I load MSI Afterburner, the PC just freezes, do you reckon there's a setting to fix something in there? E.G force constant voltage? or disable something?
Matt any idea when the new drivers are expected, providing support for CF in TW Attila?
21 days after the release of Dying Light and I still can't use my crossfire... Shame on you AMD!
I hope 2 months is not going to be the norm for future driver releases. So many new games come in such a wide space of time. To wait 2+ months is not cool to wait for a driver that enables proper crossfire. With this mentallity, AMD wont get many ppl looking for multi gpu setups in the future, and for 4k this is a must. Surely it would make sense to have a dedicated team looking in crossfire profiles for each AAA title, couldn't they just send a CAP to update the driver? like a hotfix?
So Matt, you saying this upcoming driver will not have a Dying Light Crossfire Profile? that's really not cool if that's the case.
Matt has already said a Dying Light profile IS in this driver.
It was TW: Atilla that doesn't have one just yet, but will in the next driver.
My GPU just overheated, flickering, lines across the screen... the works, the GPU was boiling, literally. don't know yet if there is any damage.
Whats causing it is somesort of conflict between MSI AB and CCC, i have had it before, its completley random when it happens but when it does it looks the fans to idle speeds.
It's something to do with CCC fan settings, if you set your own fan profile it sets CCC to manual control and it does that at whereever the fan speed happens to be at the time.
If CCC decides to take over and block MSI AB or whatever it is that it is doing it looks the fans to the set speed not mater how hot the GPU gets.
The only way to guarantee it not happening is to unistall CCC, because the thing is if i use MSI AB to overclock that overclock will be reset unless you have CCC overdrive enabled.
Its like CCC is fighting to take over.
Why the ###### does CCC have a setting where you can look the fan speeds no matter how hot the GPU gets anyway? its daft take it out.
Just spent nearly an hour on BF4, it seems to have survived.
What i have done now is ramp up the Manual Fan Control in CCC to 100%, so if it decides to take over again and lock the fans like that at least it the GPU's isn't going to overheat.
Question:
Where does MSI AB keep the configuration file when you customise the AB settings?
Cheers - I don't want to have to re do all the settings each time I have to install it. I've also had an issue with the install itself now, an error relating to a missing DLL. Fresh download & install of windows - didn't screen shot it but it was relating to RivaTuner!
yeah I noticed that but not sure why it failed the first time - working fine now though!
So, Matt, looking good for this week?
Before long it will be approaching three months.
Matt, will the next driver have a Homeworld Remastered crossfire profile?
Just loading Total War Attila and it's telling me my drivers are out of date.
I'm using 14.12 omega, is there any newer? According to AMDs site they're the newest.
Yeah.
No, it's a rework of the originals that is coming out tomorrow.

AMD should at least be making more beta drivers I think. I loved it when they used to make 1 driver a month. Now it has become a quarterly thing... Should try bi-monthly in my opinion.
I can play the game, but my performance for my spec is pretty terrible.
I5 3570k @ 4.8ghz
8gb DDR3
3gb 7970
Installed on a SSD
Running at medium settings i can expect 40fps on average.
