It seems that some of AMD are still stuck in the Bulldozer era of marketing/hype/smoke and mirrors bs and its needs to stop.
And is probably about 2 years away too. Make that Vega last people!!
Vega would hold out for two years. The problem is it would take 2 years of price drops for me to consider it.
That said Navi will most likely be with us pretty soon. The question now is will Nvidia do the right thing in the meantime.
The right thing as in make profit for their shareholders like they are legally obligated to do so?
No doubt it'll be almost as fast as a 1080ti, slightly more expensive than a 1080ti and hailed a massive success!
I felt the same way after Fury and my expectations were Vega would easily come out with Titan XP performance after having over 12 months, HBM2 and a more mature manufacturing process advantage. But it did not happen.I understand that Vega has been a bit of disappointment but it's funny how much people are playing on this like it's standard of AMD to do this after one "failure". Navi has every chance to be as good as R300 when it came out, or as bad as R600.
Even with that I don't think Vega matching/ slightly beating a 1080 is bad from a company with a far smaller R&D budget.

Was not bad, but was not good either. Not from a price for performance perspective for me anyway.Fury wasn't bad though, it forced the 980Ti out and wasn't even all that far behind it. Sometimes now it's even ahead of that and pushing the 1070 (depending on games and resolution). I will wait and see, less hype will follow but hopefully it'll be another 9700 .

I really hope you are right. I loved my 9700

Poor Volta
As a product, it's not bad, but at that price, it's shocking. It's Ferrari money for a family hatchback, a burger at the cost of aged steak. I know AMD want to push price/profits up, but you can only do that when you can provide the performance. I hope Navi is going to be sensibly priced, because coming out with an £800 aircooled version and £1000 water-cooled version simply prices many people out of being an AMD customer, especially if your competition is faster and cheaper.
Why do people keep saying Poor Volta. I'm I missing some kind of focus group thing?
It should become clear after wathcing this for about 6-7 seconds
Poor Vega!
If you are still missing it, not sure anyone can help you mateSorry TNA, I must be missing something.

I will make one last attempt however. Basically that is an advertisement directly from AMD. In that add around the 6-7 second mark they have a sight that says Poor Voltage on it with the letters ge covered. The message here seems like it is saying Vega is so good that even Volta will barely keep up with it. At least that is what comes to mind. Considering all the advantages AMD had by coming in very late and having HBM2, you can see why some may have thought Vega could be coming in as Volta's competitor and Volta is late, hence "Poor Volta".
I hope that helps.
Are part of the Nvidia focus group too TNA? I could be getting you mixed up with someone else.
