** The AMD Navi Thread **

a 2070 competitor for about 2070 money is just not going to get their attention.

The leak came from Saphire in Singapore though so surely it's 499 Singapore dollars? In US dollars it's only $362 for 2070 performance. Then the lower model would be $228 for 2060 performance.

It wouldn't make sense for AMD to price match with less features. It would be a failed product, they just wouldn't do it.

Now I questioned this too, but the Moore's Law guy said it is US dollars. He said, she said as always. We'll just have to wait and see. But agreed, a price match just wouldn't work. His analysis on how a $500 Navi could/would still dominate is a good listen though.

Thanks for the link, that guy talks a lot of sense. It was interesting when he put AMD and Nvidia's line up side by side for comparison. I hope they announce the full line up at Computex and not just the higher tiers.

“To hinder amd branding”

********

As mentioned companies trademark stuff years in advance if there is any chance they will use the name

If amd is going to launch a “3080” tommorow it would have been trademark at least last year if not earlier

It’s been trademarked because the next nvidia series is called RTX 30xx and so forth each generation

Brand new architecture. Don't think anyone said that about Navi.

Faster than 2070 is about where I'm looking for an upgrade, so now it just comes down to price vs. 2070Ti.

Some crude numbers on my part, speculating about the card shown. Saw some benchmarks in Strange Brigade and this is what I saw (at 4K):

1500 (64) - 60 fps
1688 (64) - 70 fps
1716 (VII) - 84.6 fps
(by V64) 1500 (navi) - 75 fps
(by VII) 1716 (navi) - 105 fps

So my speculation is that what we saw was a Navi clocked somewhere around 1700.

I'm curious to see what features they add (VRS etc) if any. Might sell my V64 & bite.
