The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Finished Mob Psycho. Really great series. I enjoyed each season a lot. I liked season 1's ending most, 3x06 was amazingly animated and the ending was a fitting conclusion, but 2x07 was a high point and one of the best episodes of any anime I've ever seen.

I liked S2 the best of all 3 I think. It's nice they adapted the whole thing though, very hard to find fully complete series.

From this season, Vinland Saga S2 had a good start I thought, still chewing on the other episode 1's I've seen.

Apparently the pigs are having to be careful whilst landing in hell due to ice on the runway.
Gunbuster is up for pre-order, on blu-ray with a dub in the US now, and it's only something like $30.
That's a far cry from the old UK DVD release which was poor quality, sub only and edited, or the previous US release which was much better quality, sub with a music edit and an RRP of $65.

Even now that it's up for pre-order it seems like something that shouldn't be happening given it's one of the titles that for 20 odd years it's been out of reach/consistently "no way it'll ever get dubbed as the music and effects tracks can't be found".

The only reason I haven't pre-ordered it already is i'm not sure if it's going to work on a UK player, and i'm hoping ATA will announce a UK release ;)

Haven't really been into Anime since my teens but I picked up a sub to crunchyroll to watch Attack on Titan. Loved it so much more than I thought I would, so many "just 1 more" late nights because of it. It's the best TV show I've watched in a very long time. It's just a shame "The final season" isn't in fact, the final season, haha.

Anyway, is there anything else you'd recommend watching?

Same. I used to watch a lot of anime in my teens (quite a mix - your Narutos and Bleaches, Gainax stuff, FMA (the 1st series), Initial D, some random shows like Azumanga Daioh), but stopped for a good 10 years or so. I just recently started up again.

Other than AoT too (though I read the manga and have only watched random episodes here and there), I've watched Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Mob Psycho 100, Chainsaw Man (I've caught up with the manga as the anime so far only covers about 4 volumes) and have just started Bocchi The Rock. Highly recommend the 1st 3. Only watched the intro of Bocchi, so need to watch it properly.

Really good "beginner stuff" for me would be Death Note (a bit dated now but still great), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Both are fully complete and not too long, around 40-60 episodes each.

Demon Slayer is good, on Netflix, as is The Seven Deadly Sins.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War on Disney+ if you used to watch Bleach.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma is actually really good.

making my way through "Monster" - a slow burner but I'm enjoying it.

I found Monster a bit too slow for me, I'm really struggling to find new good things to watch though that are engaging. I've seen too many of the good shows now I think!

Sure there must be some out there.

This season Vinland Saga season 2 is really good so far. It's a shame Nier is on hold, production issues only 3 episodes in.

I watched this after death note finished which my friend recommended. Yes it was slow and I was always waiting for something to drastic to happen but never did imo. Its probably the worst anime that I've ever watched right to the end.

The real monster was my friend for recommending this many years ago. I never understood the hype of this anime.

Ultimately I guess ya like what ya like, I wasn't into Monster either and couldn't finish it, but people often like stuff that I don't!

I think I’m enjoying it because I’ve always enjoyed slow burner tv shows.

About 40 episodes done and I’m still happy to keep going.

Finshed Bocchi the Rock last night. The over-the-top, cutesy girl thing was a tiny bit overbearing at times for me at my age now, but overall it was a fun watch, which I could see resonating a lot for those with social anxiety and/or teenagers playing instruments/in bands.

I totally got goosebumps at the very end when Asian Kung-Fu Generation started playing. A legendary Japanese band, especially for anime watchers and a band that was very present in my formative teenage years with Naruto/Bleach/FMA/etc openings who I've followed since. It didn't even click with me till the end that all the characters are named after AKFG band members.
