***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

I was looking at the other screens on my phone and thought "yeah that looks about right"

Then put them window by window on my PC and realised I'd derped.

this one?

That is quite interesting, your DirectX results smash mine. How much a Difference you think 977/1250 vs 1150/6800 would make.

Then my Mantle on stock is a good bit ahead.

It shouldn't make that much difference, iirc the vast majority of 780 oc editions boost to 1000+MHz out of the box which by contrast can also make it difficult to compare with other cards. 1100+MHz oob boost is certainly on the higher end of the 780 scale though.

As Matt said though maybe its down to the drivers you're on, haven't read much into the latest amd betas but I do remember some saying the previous mantle betas had a negative effect on DX.

My new Board uses something similar called Plx Pex 8747 "Asus P8z77 WS" It runs superb with my cards. I honestly wouldn't know any different.

Aye the plx chips are usually what you'll find on dual GPU cards (i know the 690 uses one anyhow) and the higher end motherboards (m6e, oc force etc...). These WS boards are often insanely good In the PCI dept, a shame they usually lack a good set of oc utilities for fine tuning etc... iirc the x79 WS is one of the only boards that will do 16/16/16/16.

Anyone with SLI finding GPU usage in BF4 up and down on the latest Beta's or is it my end?

Not updated my drivers in a few weeks but sli was a solid 98% each card for me at the weekend.

Yeah everything that's in the z68 and Z77 is here. Overclocking is one of the boards key features and reviews picked up on this.

It's good that it does as often workstation boards have the primary focus of xeons, virtualization and ecc ram :p

Oh I thought you said you was packing the buggy board back up, presumed it had arrived and not worked or something :p

What's the crappy part?

True that^^^, my win 8.1 install stems from a z68 windows 7 install :D

Win 7 (z68) - win 7 (x79) - win 8 (x79) - win 8 (z87) - win 8.1 (z87)

Slots 1 & 5, the spacing multi cards deserve, its always annoyed me that on the mid range boards Asus insist on slots 1 & 4.

Bit of an odd one tbh.
Seems like it's making an example for the sake of making an example.

OT: Is mantle now working properly with 7xxx Xfire? I haven't been keeping up (or plaing BF4 either tbh).

I'm not sure about how it is with 14.3 betas but I think the memory leak thing was still an issue on the 7000 series with 14.2. Though I think 14.3 was mainly an update for thief.

Isn't input lag governed by the panel not the fps driven through it? I was always under the impression the competitive fps high frames (particularly quake engine) was down to having something render on screen a split second quicker to give the player an edge

Let afterburner or something log your clocks as you play and see what your core clock is doing. Sounds like the core is stuck at lower clocks or something.

You dont have to fire up BF4 to change API.

Documents > Battlefield 4 > Settings > PROFSAVE_profile (I open this with Wordpad) then..

GstRender.MantleEnabled 0 = DX
GstRender.MantleEnabled 1 = Mantle

Then just hit Save.

Job done ;)

Out of curiosity as to what would happen I changed this to mantle with my nvidia cards, I was expecting and error code or something but the game just defaults its self back to dx11 :p

Sure :p

In all honesty I just wanted to see what error it would throw out, bound to be one or two BF4 errors I haven't added to my collection yet.

I have a new suggestion. Make the file read only after you select Mantle and see what happens. :D

Unfortunately when it defaults back to DX it doesn't change anything in the settings, it must be a fall back option if it fails to see a mantle compatible card.

So they won't release naval strike as it doesn't meet the highest quality levels possible, but the rest of the broken game was perfectly acceptable to release???

I'll do some testing later tonight on the new maps. Any idea which is the biggest/most complex? Time has become a luxury these days.
