***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

for anyone with performance issues can you try it with and without hyperthreading enabled.

i noticed a bit difference in the beta and also bf3 between the two

I've found a fix for the stuttering!!

GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60
PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 1
PerfOverlay.Enable 1

Limiting FPS to 60 stops the cpu spikes. Check this out.

Here's where things get weird. No trouble maintaining 60fps as you can tell at 1440 Ultra x4AA. Yet the second i enable Vsync cpu spikes fill the graph and stutter is back but 10 times worse than before i added the fps cap.

The GFX in that Screen shot, Matt. its almost photographic, astonishing.

Mate this is right at the start of the game. The least graphically impressive bit i could have chosen. I'll post some better ones, this was just to highlight the fix i discovered.

EDIT

The clever amongst you may have noticed i have disabled FXAA. Look for edges visible near the window. I forgot to enable AMD's MLAA so those edges won't be there on my next screenshot. :)

Yeah, post a few sceenies, thanks :)

Will take some now and report back shortly.

Does it have a built in benchmark, Matt? People saying it was there but not activated or something?

If so, who's doing a thread? :D

It has a system performance test, though im not sure it works properly. I don't think its a proper benchmark, rather it just tests your current settings (gpu and lan etc) and rates performance. It appears to be 1 bar bad, 2 bars average and 3 bars good. Or something to that effect. I tried it on Ultra it said bad performance. I tried it on low with 200fps, it still said bad performance. :p

The stutter is not completely fixed, but its much better than it was before. The game still needs a day one patch i think though to fix the problems mentioned here and all over battlelog. That said it does look pretty. I think im going to wait a bit before playing as i want the experience to be perfect and its not quite there yet. However just to wet some appetites i snapped a few screens in my few minutes of gameplay. 1440p Ultra, x4 AA, FXAA disabled and MLAA enabled. Looking at the screenshots im not sure MLAA is even working.

Believe me its even more annoying having it here but knowing that i have to wait for them to make it perfect. :p

One thing i will say, oh the sounds. The gun sounds. Jizz in your pants material wearing a G35 7.1 surround sound headset.

Good to know.

I use Senheisser G333D, which are pretty damned awesome for sounds :)

I am sure it runs very well on Nvidia btw :p

Not according to this. :D

However there may be a ray of light at the end of your tunnel. One guy in there with 3 titans at 1080p saying it runs really well. :D

Has anyone played multiplayer?

I pre-loaded last night via a VPN, does anyone know if you can connect to a multiplayer game via a VPN and then drop the VPN?
