***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Matt, does this mean i win?

Use recommended amount of memory for 1920x1080 resolution would be 1536 MB VRAM for 2560x1600 resolution - 2048 MB of video memory and 3840h2160 resolution greater than 2048 MB of video memory. When the resolution quality of 200% will require at least 3 GB of memory, other resolutions at the moment this is unacceptable in view of the quality standard conditions at the moment of memory for graphics cards about 3 gigabytes.

Lol Tone, they benched a 30 second clip of single player. The real test comes on multiplayer 64 man big maps.

In other news the problems i was having still remain. However i found a solid fix, for now. Vsync On, Frame pacing off. 1440p x4 AA Ultra preset. As usual frame pacing working smoothly at 1080p highest details. Not sure at this stage if its a game issue or a driver issue.

13.11 beta 7 - 1440P - Ultra +x4 AA Vsync OFF - Frame Pacing ON = Microstutter central, CPU Spikes galore.

13.11 beta 7 - 1440P - Ultra +x4 AA Vsync ON - Frame Pacing OFF + FPS Limit Set At 60 FPS = Smooth as a baby's bottom covered in baby oil.

Nice screenshots, game does indeed look very nice.

It does. :)

They're busy, loads to test :)
SP is better to bench, you can control what happens as opposed to MP where you could get random lag thanks to the server etc.

SP is about as useful for collecting vram usage as taking a dump in a field though. If a 2gb card or two (no more than that) can run 1440/1600p Ultra with x4AA at 2048mb or less and keep high minimum and average fps then ill give you the win. Any other result and ill be expecting a copy of bf4. ;)

That is what fields were designed for! :) The hard part is finding somewhere to wipe  (2 pairs of socks! :D)

We need some 680/670/770 owners with 1440/1600 screens to test, Kaap i call you! :D

1920x1080 Ultra with a GTX690

I get 2012MB VRAM usage and pretty good even GPU usage @ 95-96%. BF4 seem smoother than BF3... this should not be surely?! Regardless, well done DICE.

Aye but you're at peasant res mate. 1080P 2gb was never in doubt.

We need more than Kaap, plus he uses 2x690's so that makes his results null and void in this test. Sweclockers and HardOCP are both going to cover this matter so stand by for their reviews. If their beta review results are anything to go by i don't fancy your chances. :D

Matt, you might want to edit the second screenie ;)

Does look very good.

Performance in the campaign seems as per the beta.

For a stock non-GE 7970 in Ultra and default FOV, I am getting:

1080p 30>60>90 fps average frame rate with 1, 2 and 3 cards
1440p 20>40>60fps average frame rate with 1,2 and 3 cards

Which seems roughly in line with the gamegpu.ru chart above.

1440p seems stuttery without vsync on.

Besty lad, try Vsync on, frame pacing off, fps limit capped at 60 via radenopro and you will get smoothness as per my screenshots above. This is with two peasant 7950's at 1125/1575.

Lol, off your high horse Matt, I was just feeding back on my surprise to how well it runs. I was honesty expecting it to run worse than BF3, have bad SLi results and still had worries for VRAM at my "peasant" res (120hz, fast screen for gaming, thanks all the same). Also had worried that the AMD optimisation would be an issue.

But alas, DICE delivered a game that plays well and nVidia were quick off the mark with drivers that work. It does indeed run smooth, and feels smoother than BF3. Maybe W8.1 is to be thanked partially as well.

I love how you use GameGPU graphs to prove how much VRAM the games uses, as it agrees with you and then dismiss their other graphs that don't agree with you! :)

And just the other day you were saying you didn't agree to anything regards the bet, now you expect to claim the winnings?
It was Tone who said he'd buy me a copy if it used more than 2gb and was playable. I never agreed to anything i just gave my prediction and was told i was wrong.

Really?
Never?
Ever?

If Kaaps can play this on his 690's with no VRAM issues that is good enough for me and should be good enough for everyone on this forum. He has red and green and has no allegiance to either brand and if anyone would give a fair reflection of the game, it would be Kaap.

Aero needs to be disabled :p Who runs that fancy thing anyway!

I have Aero disabled when gaming. I don't care what the background looks like when I can't see it :D

Didn't he test with one 690 as well and that was fine. Not that having two would make any difference if he was running out of VRAM other than bumping his average slightly. I trust his results and judgement as well.

Edit: Matt - Googaly has got you there mate above :x :D
