***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

yeh looks like you right
doing a little reading you cant just download it for 8.0
i guess as the update is free no biggy but the bugs some are getting

Anyone got the Asus 7970 Matrix Plat by any chance?

Have it in my basket right now and just wondering how well it's coping with BF4. My GTX480, while putting in a valiant effort as always with this beauty of a card, is struggling a fair bit..

It'll do the same as any other 7970 at the same clocks.
Here's what mine (not a Matrix) does:
Lancang Dam 62 players:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
53744, 686904, 51, 140, 78.241

2500K @4.5 / 7970 @1200/1600
Ultra/4xMSAA Fov:85

I'm still waiting on my copy to arrive from Tesco...but those are some nice stats Petey. Can't wait to see what our 7970s will do with Mantle. I'm a 90 FOV man myself though.

One question - if you turn up the render % to like 150 does this mean I need less/no AA, cos it's supersampling right??

Would be great to find out.

Frames Time (ms) Min Max Avg
18967 180000 85 177 105.372

Ultra @ 1920x1080 90FOV. GTX690 running at a constant 1137MHz Boost and 6800MHz Memory on a 48 player Lancang Dam or Gulmud Railway, i forget which one.

Multiplayer is smooth and single player is nice and smooth apart from a couple of places, GPU usage drops to 80% each and there's slight stuttering, saw this when looking and light breaching water. Odd... probably get patched at somepoint.

Y'know, I found 90 FOV perfect in the beta, but in the full game I swear there was more of a fisheye effect, so I had to turn it down a bit.
No idea about the res scaling thing. I tried it at 200% briefly and didn't notice much difference apart from the obvious framerate drop...

well I'm on :) only played two maps so far but boy what fun they are

Loving it so far for sure, I did not have fraps running but it was silky smooth on both maps.
When i did have fraps on the game crashed 1 minute in  i now cant seem to get in to any games at the mo hence typing this lol.

Greg and I played together at the same time on the same maps and with the same settings. He has a Titan and I have a 780.

2560x1440
Ultra with 2x MSAA

Titan max VRAM used: 3039MB. 780 max VRAM used: 2247MB.

We only played 1 and a half maps. That's some quite different VRAM usage there in exactly the same scenario but it proves that the card will 'use' massively more VRAM than what is truly required if excess is available.
