***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Ive been running at stock ever since the last two days of the beta mate. So that rules out any overclock issues. But still get that 0xc0000005 error. The only problems i had in the beta were related to an unstable memory oc. I was running my ram at 2133mhz and the cpu at 4.5ghz. Got a few 0x124 bsod's. Leaving the cpu oc in place but putting the ram back to 1600mhz fixed this. I darent run stress tests on this chip though as it hits the mid 90's in p95 very quickly.

Same code that has been posted on the official forums many times as well.

Intrestingly it is the exact same code i got when it crashed once on loading in the beta (only had that one crash on the beta, no crashes in game at all) on a completely different CPU/Memory configuration.

Only thing that is worrying me is whether it is my overclock but it is rock stable in everything else i do, benches, other games, music production with large amounts of VST's(very hard on CPU/memory), Prime 95 with AVX instructions for hours.

I dont want to fiddle with what i think is a stable system and mess it up just for this one game.

You put your CPU back to stock didnt you at one point? Were you still getting the same crashes to desktop even with everything at stock?

i have tried system at recommended defaults and gpu at stock, thought it was ok, but NO. so leave your pc as it is, wont make a blind bit of difference imo. The crashes are so random that there is no way of pin pointing.

Good to know. Sounds like it probably unrelated to any overclock i have then. I havent had any BSOD's, sound loops, lock ups or Nvidia driver errors. The game just suddnely closes and chucks me back to battlelog/desktop with the "battlefiedl 4 has stopped working" message creating an enrty in event viewer with that 0x000005c fault

yes

one thing i do know is that 99% of my crashes happen when the on screen action is intense, my playing style is all out guns blazing, so generally i'm always in the thick of it. :D
would like to know if the campers/snipers have the same issues when there lying about watching the world go by :p

its as if the game engine is saying "if i dont run smooth, i dont want cpu spikes, sever lag, and dont push the gpu too fast too quick or i'm gonna spit my dummy out and crash"

Spent the whole round in a tank so maximum strain possible on the fps. Sound cut outs are seriously annoying and happened constantly throughout the course of the round. How does this stuff get through testing. Not getting any crashes thankfully and performance is as smooth as Battlefield 3, though my fps are lower.

One thing i did notice is im only geting 80-93% gpu usage. Spent most of the round locked on 85% gpu usage. So theres either a cpu bottleneck (which i believe mantle will remove) or the AMD drivers need scaling performance improvement. I think its probably a bit of both.

2x7950's will provide an excellent experience on BF4 at 1440P with the highest possible in game settings.

Gpu use is all over the shop for me too. Maxes at 95% but can drop quite a bit. Running a stock cpu certainly doesnt help this. Regarding the sound bug. For me this is the single most annoying problem. Onboard sound on my mobo is pretty poor, and ive thought about sticking my xonar dx back in. But when the sound cuts out it wouldnt matter what im using. Ive always enjoyed the sound quality in bf games, but onboard doesnt do it justice, (when it works that is).

Weird. Do you get crash to desktops on other maps then?

I havent had a single issue with Operation Locker or Paracel Storm yet.

sound issues on 3 maps, lot of crash to desktop with map change now and then, can work fine for hours and then just go wrong.
some desktop crash in game, often with levolution events.

stable maps as far been flood zone.
rogue transmission also and paracel storm works
the other often have chrashes now and then.

fps is better than BF3 for me.
win 8.1 maybe ;)

Has anyone NOT had a crash to desktop yet?
(Crash in event viewer showing Faulting application name: bf4.exe,Faulting module name: bf4.exe,Exception code: 0xc0000005 e.t.c)

I had 1 crash but that was due to my CPU voltage

but with 290X and i7 4770k @ 4.5 it works perfect all the time loads fast and avg of 90fps so yea

bf4 b***ch! :D

Quick comparison between Tri Sli Titans and the Ti. Both these runs were at stock. (Superclocked 1124/3500)

VRAM usage was 2885 max.

What sort of crash was that though?

bluescreen xD

So it's not GPU/BF4 releated my friend as i found out was playing with my GPU and set it to 4.8... so it failed got it back to 4.5 and since that day not a single crash

also updated my bios on my maximus to the new version and still run Ram @ 2.4

Ah ok.

These crash to desktops are weird. A lot of people seem affected but there are some like yourself that are not.

I wonder if it is something odd like which browser you use, pop up/adblock settings e.t.c.

Some people even suggest disabling cloud sync as they think that is casuing the crashes.

I use this

was made by my friend i like it so i use it ^_^

That is a nice jump in FPS Frosty and thanks for comparing.

To the guys getting crashes. The odd time I have had a crash, it has been a BF3 has stopped working crash and it made no difference if I was overclocked or on stock. The game is broken and that is that.

Thanks. That is the only issue i am having (BF4 stopped working crash to desktop) - Can you check in event viewer to see if it is the same 0x000005c fault?

I would seriously be hooked on this game if that wasnt hanging over it! The graphics and performance are amazing.

Yup, that's the one!

Well it is heartening to know that a lot of other people are getting the crash to desktops as well!
