***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Flickering on some far away textures is normal i think ( if that is what you mean) I have always noticed those in almost every game i have ever played at some point, overclocked or stock.

Black shards doesnt sound right though!

It's very different to the texture pop thing. That seems to be standard for everyone in BF4 :D

The 'black shard thing' is a definite VRAM issue that often happens when it's OC'd. Basically, you see black spikey, shard-like artifacts on other players and sometimes vehicles/buildings.

I had it on BF3 every now and then if I ran the memory really high.

Ok some goods news! I set my 7950s in cf to factory clocks and no more directx errors. But what I can't get my head round was the overclocks weren't exactly big. Only 1100 on the core and 1300 on the memory.

Does this mean I can't play bf4 with overclcoked 7950 gpus? Such a waste of performance potential :(

Just to add I already tried updating direct x from within the folder with the gpu oc and still it gives me error.

BF4 is very demanding and is using our resources like CPU's and GPU's very effeciently (regardless of the bugs at present). This will be putting a big strain on your hardware (more than normal). I would add a touch more to the volts with your previous clocks or drop the OC down a touch.

@ Setter.

That is where the Ice Witch lives and she is a sniper...Watch out for her hiding :D

Thanks il take your advice and see how it goes. Just shocking as it's such a low overclock for a 7950 and I pass heaven benchmarks with such a higher overclock. Bf4 seems to be my new stress tester :/

It's memory temps I think, you'll run bf4 longer longer than any benchmark so they have time to absorb heat from the heatsink or build it up on their own. I used to get them in bf3 and turning up the fan a bit defo helped

Running 7950 @ 1100/1600 and no probs with temps.. about the same as BF3. Even ran it at 1125/1625. I last quite a few rounds until the usual server crash.

Only had one dx crash.

Gotta say im not happy with Origin waking up my 3 1TB HDD's every time i start it up and as they are set to sleep after 20 mins of idle.. start a new server on either BF3 or BF4 and they crank up again sometimes leading to a crash. This is something that sticks out to me and its rather bloody annoying.

Ok so i just got off BF4 after doing a bench on each map (4 maps last night and 6 tonight).

All 64 player servers with maxed out ultra 4xMSAA @ 1080p. All between half a round to a full round. Even with the min fps i get im not really seeing much lag or stutter at all.
I just dont notice it so it must be very quick dips cuz my averages i think are pretty damn good. It would be smoother anyway if i run vsync but for these benches i obviously didnt :)

So like in my sig my specs are..

i7 2700K @ 4.5GHz
7950 @ 1100/1600
2x 4GB Vengeance RAM @ 1600MHz
Samsung 830 SSD
Windows 7 64 Bit

After 6 maps GPU-Z shows..

Max Temp = 68c
Max VRM 1 = 76c
Max VRM 2 = 69c

(I get these sort of temps in BF3 anyway)

Now for the benches

So things can only get better huh? I hope so with an update coming tomorrow and a client update just around the corner ( http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/threadview/2955065217944685108/ ;) ) and then Mantle soon aswell :)

Well thats it for benches from me for the time being. Now i need sleep :D
