7950's in xfire do seem to be the sweetspot for this game in regards to bang for buck.

I'm having fairly bad performance at the moment. I think its the memory leak people started noticing. It seems like my BF4 performance gradually gets worse with each map. With something like Siege of Shanghai it drops to the mid 30's when im in the attack chopper post skyscraper fall. I run at Ultra inc 4xMSAA but the beta gave me better performance on Shanghai on my 3570k. I tried disabling hyper threading which did actually seem to make it smoother but Shanghai was awful again. Currently running CPU at stock as BF4 seems so prone to crashing or BSOD's but I still shouldn't be getting this kind of performance, I was on 13.11b7 but upgraded to the newest yesterday.
Afterburner shows that my VRAM usage is hitting the 3GB limit and the pagefile is over 10GB! Running at 1080p. Any suggestions appreciated.

I didn't do any overclocking yet, got the card 2 days ago. With a mild oc of +100 core and +400 memory I got 10 fps more on Valley which is really good. I will overclock my Classy as much as I can

I've reset my CPU to stock clocks, and I haven't had a crash in a few hours. Maybe that was the problem all along. Never had issues with any other games, though.
My CPU can't handle this game at stock, though. My GPU usage drops to around 50% in some parts and it gets super choppy.

Ive found 4.5ghz on my 4770k to be the sweetspot with sli 670's. Ive yet to reapply the cpu oc. Unsure wether it will do the same clockspeed as im now running much faster ram than before.

2500K should be fine in this but because it is using the CPU well, if the OC is unstable, it will be a game to find it. I imagine that lots of the crashes are due to unstable overclocks, either on the CPU or GPU.

Possible unstable oc is one of the reasons im still running at stock. With the game in its current buggy state, running stock takes this out of the equation until the game is sorted. It is hurting my performance a bit though.

Absolutely Setter. You can rule out certain elements by running everything 'out the box' and if it is still crashing, it does help to eliminate hardware being the issue.

I reckon that 2500K would be fine at 4.4-4.5.
Fwiw, I get 99% GPU usage with an OC'd 7970 and 2500K @4.5.
Crashes are so random with this game anyway. I can often play for hours with no crashes and some days it'll crash repeatedly from the off.
That can happen with the GPU at stock, with a mild OC, or with a large OC. I gave up trying to figure it out

Thankfully i havent had any crashes in a while now, no audio bug either. My main issue is sometimes trying to connect to servers. It will start to load the game, icon appears in taskbar then simply closes. This too is very intermittent.

Recorded an entire round on Parcel Storm with Shadow Play @ 1440P (1080 rec). Didn't even notice it was running TBH. Seems only certain games take a hit, even when not recording.

I'm having the server problem too. It can take me 4-5 tries to get in to a server.

I have not had a crash in the last 4 days and the only issue I have had is the same as that Setter. I found closing the browser and reopening it sorted that though.
