***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

High to medium settings with no AA is fine. Just make sure you update your drivers. :)

Eek, I'd dread to think. 5870 should be fine for medium settings fella. Don't forget most of the people pushing numbers in here are aiming for Ultra :D

I can live with that for now. I'm going to upgrade, but it will probably be the new year by then. Thanks.

Thanks for that really does show have more than 4 cores is going to be the norm soon. I wish Intel had cheaper 6 core CPUs, I don't really fancy going to AMD with an nVidia GTX 680 card... doesn't sit well with me lol

if amd were smart they would have new cpu's coming out next month :)
last i heard they delayed tho

their current look a bit too hot and power hungry for me
and there's only like 2 good boards? *throws bad grenade

That's what people say who have a bad job - Dear I could have brought Champagne tonight, but I had different priorities and got us some food we hadn't had in 3 days.

riiiiight... anyway back on topic think I'm going to hold on until after the game is released and see if it runs any better.

What do you mean pgi947?

Dont forget threads can offset the need for cores, sniff out a cheap 2nd hand 26/700k and you're laughing

these are the frametimes, but tbh they don't mean much to me.

i5 2500K @ 4.6GHZ
8GB Memory
Creative Labs XFI (Latest Drivers)
Nvidia 660GTX MSI Twin Fan @ +60MHZ/+300MHZ (42C Max Load) - Latest Drivers!
Windows 7 64BIT ( All drivers up to date )

Performance Problems : Lots of tearing in game, frame rate all over the place, lots of stuttering and jerking, even had the odd stall and stutter completely unplayable!

Settings : Tried Default Ultra all the way down to LOW

Partial Fix : Running in Windowed mode, but not acceptable

Useless as any server lag shows itself as a long frame time. Best off testing the single player side of the game for things like that.

tbh I didn't notice any stuttering and felt smooth to me, I think that long pause is where the tank blew up and then spawned me outside of area (stupid game)

I mean a good hyperthreaded chip can compensate for lack of extra physical cores, hunting for a hex core intel chip is always going to be an expensive venture, so something like a used 2600k (4 physical cores 8 threads) will work wonders as the load is offset to the ht threads :)

you'd find a decent 1155 board and a 2600k for well under £250 all in :)

The most powerful LGA1156 CPU my motherboard can take is an i7 880 which also has 8 threads, I'm going to see if I can pick one of them up cheap.

For single GPU's, I imagine that would be fine but if you intend on having dual or even a single powerful GPU, you will see bottlenecks. My advice just from this BF4 game is a 4770K as a minimum for ultra gaming. If more games companies follow Dice, a lot more will be wanting a beefy CPU as well as a beffy GPU (or 2).

Hope that makes sense and I would rather others confirm how they are getting on with their 3570K/3770K/2500K/5570K/4770K as well. This would give a better picture.

well for me it runs like poo

NVIDIA Drivers 331.40 running SLI GTX770

Max memory used was 1918,
GPU load average is 30%
CPU usage was high 90's
FPS seems to hover around 40-50

I had to turn down some settings but still very laggy did not seem to make much difference.

I know we are playing beta but seems to highlight my lack of CPU threads.

Not playable at all for me i hope Nvidia can sort out much better drivers on release.

Thanks for the info and I am assuming others are getting the same Ash. When you run AB, does it show your CPU usage across all 4 cores at over 80%? I am guessing this is why your GPU usage is so low.

@ Matt and others who are staying on the loading screen. I restarted my computer, did a repair install of BF4 and got straight on. Hopefully that has fixed it.
