***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

I believe that at the moment we don't have FULL ULTRA settings. I think some things have been left out. I would expect vram usage to increase on the final game. Same happened with bf3 last year. You could select Ultra, but you only got high settings.

This year if you select Ultra preset you get mainly ultra with a few high settings. I've tried changing the settings to all ULTRA and get no fps difference, no improvement in image quality and no increase in vram usage. This means some ultra settings are missing from the game imo. You can quote me on this come final release. ;)

Ran 3 mins on Fraps with the below setup/settings :)

Intel i7 3770k @ 4.3Ghz
HD7990 Latest Beta
16GB Ram
Windows 8 64 bit.
Settings, ULTRA, MSAA 4X 1080p

3mins benched using fraps at above...

Frames: 16647 - Time: 180000ms

Avg: 92.483
Min: 62
Max: 155

Pretty damn happy with my Min of 62fps indeed

i would imagine that will only get better with some mantle action as well (eyes 7990 prices...)

I'm using 2.1gb vram (single card 1080p) which is most I have ever seen on a game.

Are the guys with sli 680/670 running out of vram?

Yeah a very good indication Dave...very good :)

Someone was mentioning £420 7990's on the owners thread

I don't seem to be running into the same problems some people in traditional crossfire are experiencing...all in all very happy with the performance especially since it's a Beta...and as you said, without Mantle :)

I will stick my neck out and say this is the first application of any type which runs flawlessly smooth on trifire 7970's.

Whether this is Windows 8.1, BF4, drivers or a combination of all three i don't know.

Considering out of those 3, Windows 8.1 is the only non-beta software, that is impressive.

BF4 beta is miles upon miles better than the broken BF3 'beta' and in some respects seems to be working better than the current BF3 release code.

BF4 is showing how broken BF3 really is.

Yes i would agree with that Neil, but its far from perfect. ITs the game i can tell. My gpu's are at 99% pegged. The drivers can only do so much. The game is so buggy and un-optimised.

EDIT

I'm only on windows 8, not 8.1 and dx11.2 so maybe there is a difference there. Not sure.

Oh I agree with you LtMatt, however it's the difference between playable and un-playable :(

Is your vRam overclocked? thats Memory corruption.

This is what I thought yet my memory runs absolutely fine in excess of 50mhz higher on crysis 3 no issues at all, same goes for benches like 3dmark, heaven 4.0. Temp wise the chips are around 65c in crysis 3 at 20c room temp. Could it be driver issues?
