That is stunning!

I have noticed this morning that once your CPU hits 100% usage, you then get some horrific stuttering & slow down. I seriously hope the final release isn't this bad as I'd like to avoid upgrading again. My 2500k generally seems to cope ok, but I can see the benefits of a hex-core here.

Vram wise, im seeing almost 1800mb usage. Would be less if i could get aero disabled on loading the game up. Settings on ultra, 4x msaa, post off, hbao on at 1920x1200. 64 player conquest server.

On my setup, it uses about 2.3-4gb of VRAM.which is only a little more than BF3.

In bf3 i get a max of 1500mb, settings on maximum, aero disabled. Cant seem to disable it in bf4 though.

According to this review Haswell i5 as Good as i7 in BF4, So much bs and parrot repetition on forums sometimes lol

"The results at Ultra settings are as expected, the i7 4770k , i5 4670k and FX8350 provide more fps than the other lower range CPU’s but not by much. We were kind of suprised that the i5 4670k gave similar (if not better ) results than the i7 4770k "

See my testing a few pages back, 4770k feels and performs much better then a 4670k, the latter threatening to bottleneck a 780 & that was at 4.6ghz! I'll drop to 4ghz tonight and see if I can force a full on bottleneck.

Good article, also interesting that it uses 9gb of ram !!

I have been playing for hours and hours and still no stuttering and its smooth as anything and thats on an I5. However my friend may be selling his I7 setup so If I buy that I will let you know of the difference.

You can get it to disable by right clicking the bf4.exe and selecting properties and then choosing 'disable visual themes'. I had to do that with BF3 at 5760x1080 on my 2GB 680's. I can't remember how much it frees up but it does help if you are close to the limit.

Is the consensus now that 2gb is ok for BF4 as this has not been mentioned for a while.

I think people are having issues regardless of VRAM and I put this down to being a beta and an unfinished product. Drops to 20 or even single digits reported in games from both GPU's.

I think as the dust is settling now the gut feeling is that 2gig cards @1080p will be perfect once we have a fully working game, Just looking at the minimum and maximum hardware spec makes sense as it would be really silly of Dice/EA to neglect so many users of less than 2gig cards.
On the back of this beta though I will be upgrading my i5 2500k to a 3770k even in bf3 I know I have a bottleneck not as much as bf4 mind :-0

Yep, tried that Greg but the options are all greyed out. Only one i can change is compatibility.

Strange. I will have a play and see if I can't see why.

Edit:

The only easy option I can see is to right click anywhere on your desktop and select 'personalization' and choose windows 7 basic. Yopu can easily switch back to your main aero theme after by doing the same again.

Slightly off topic

Doing the above and reducing your screen resolution in benchmarks like 3dmark11 to a similar size as the benchmark is sometimes good for a few extra fps.
