***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

ok here's mine just a small one, joined a game late on.

Everything on Ultra, 2x MSAA Post AA low 64 man server @ 1080 VSync on.

Frames: 1522 - Time: 26114ms - Avg: 58.283 - Min: 38 - Max: 63

That's with Windows 7..I did have one stutter which obviously was the 38 low but the rest was very constant. I'm very impressed with performance to be honest, not what I was expecting. Saying that, both my GPU and CPU usage at 100% but strangely CPU max temp on any core in afterburner was 67oC and GPU didn't exceed 60 with a custom fan profile with max fan percentage at 50%

EDIT!!! IGNORE THIS ONE, THIS WAS THE WRONG LOG, THIS WAS A TEST LOG WHEN I WAS LEARNING HOW TO USE FRAPS BENCHMARKING :(

Here are 3 of mine running High settings on a 64 server:

I think the '0's are down to the CPU hitting 100% causing stuttering.

Just to chime in. My i5 2500k at 4.3GHZ runs at 100% on all 4 cores and I get no stuttering or large frame drops at all.

However it is definitely bottlenecking my SLI 670's. GPU usage is only 65%-85% throughout a game. Fortunately framerates are smooth despite of this. 32 player servers I seem to average about 85 fps and 64 player servers average more like 70. hardly ever see drops below 60fps

From what I have read, I think Windows 7 might have something to do with the stuttering. I am running windows 8

Also, I set my priority to low and my framerate tanked to like 20fps so that didn't work for me!

One thing, has anyone had a "battlefield 4 has stopped working" message yet? Played for an hour+ and was having a great game on this Dutch server (good players, going for the objective). I played a couple of rounds but then when loading one of the rounds I got a stopped working message and it went back to desktop/battlelog.

Probably a loading/connection bug as I couldn't find the server again to join when I went back to the server list which as weird?

Yes I've had the same error today, twice. Second time I was on teamspeak with a friend and it happened to both of us at the same time so can only assume it was somehow server related

ok here's a proper one with everything on Ultra, 2x MSAA Post AA low 64 man server @ 1080 VSync on. Win7

Slightly off topic, but relevant to the performance of BF4!

If I want to bench with an overclocked graphics card, should I be using Heaven 4 or 3DMark 11. The overclock works fine on Heaven, but crashes 3DMark 11. Is this enough?

You should use all the bench tests we have, which are a few.

For stability purposes, I always use a game but for raw power that is not stable 24/7, I go for 3dmark11/3dmark/Heaven/Valley. All good bench programs and we have leaderboards for epeen :)

I'd mainly go with 3DMark11 and Firestrike if ur looking for BF4 perf with them being more taxing on the CPU and as BF4 seems to be hard on i5's ur gona want a good stable OC on the CPU. :)

Heaven and Valley dont really tax the CPU.

Try Catzilla too.

OK, so my MSI HD 7970 seems to overclock fine at 1150/1450-1500 on Heaven, but crashes the hell out of 3DMark. Would it be such a bad thing to keep with Heaven?

Some more benchmarks from me, I'll include my first set as well just to keep everything in one place. All of these were run for at least 7-8 minutes on well populated (60+ man) servers.

Custom - everything set to Ultra, post AA off

Heaven I find harder than 3DMark in honesty and running 1 loop is hard on a massive OC. For 24/7 though, I use gaming as my bench. I play a few rounds of BF3 for example and if I get a crash, I drop 10Mhz off the core and repeat. If I get artifacting triangles, it means the memory is clocked too high.

High Preset, 1080p, Win 7 and 7970 running at 1150/1450, 64-player server.

I think it's the luck of the draw with the beta. If you can get onto a server where you have no players over 100ping, you'll get a good game in. I know what your PC is doing in the background can help, but these are the best results I've had so far.

EDIT

More but using Custom - Ultra - PPA;Low AA-2x

go on battlelog look at top and do the pb thing suggested. ;)

BF4 sucks.. been playing it since last night, gone back to BF3 and it feels much more open and less like a arcade game :s maybe its just me lol

Yeah, played quite a bit today, and doesn't feel "right" as gameplay goes.
Went back to Bad Company 2 after few years break :o

For a joke I downloaded it onto my pc to see what I would get. Around 5-20fps with everything on low/off at 1080p. i3 3220 with an ancient Radeon 7750. I think I need to find some money and upgrade my system. On that note how do you people think it will play on an i3 with a good gpu?

Not very well sadly :(

Apart from the fact the beta crashes when I get blown up, pretty happy. From what others have said previously I thought my i5 would really struggle but held its own. On Ultra preset got the below.

I'm going to head back in and see what the cpu usage is like.
