The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

No mod tools at launch. Actually I don't think Beth have said officially that they will release a construction set like they did for Oblivion. Sort of get the feeling they want to sell more downloadable content.

I had a look on there web site and you can only order it off a "Marketplace seller" now, which I dont like to use.

Where are you getting yours from?

yeah I got the same last night as well, and I ordered the day they went live :mad:

just pre orderd with another company and hope for the best

Do you remember the date you ordered??

I ordered mine on the 24th June and I am not sure when it was first advertised.
I have emailed A*****.co.uk about this and wait there reply.
Will let you know the outcome.
Looks like everyone having the same problem with A*****.co.uk, wonder what the problem really is??
I've reordered the standard edition.

Wow, anyone else feel that the UK Limited Edition is a bit lacking? They could have at least included the "Bonus DVD" as well :(

aye or a music CD or something. I wanted to get the model but sod it. Its just as expensive as the CE which i pre-ordered ages ago

and tbh imo Lunch box and bobble head toy > model thingy anyday ! :D

plus i cba to buy the same game twice - although im trying to convince my brother that it would be an ace 360 game why not go all out and get the LE ver :p its not working though
 
Could anyone give me an opinion on how well it would run on my system? Would I get it looking as good as the 360 version @ 1280x1024, 2xAA (2xAA isn't that important though)? Spec is in my signature.

There are no reviews or benchmarks available at this time so it's difficult to say with a fair degree of acuracy. However... taken from the Fallout 3 Wiki:

"Fallout 3 will use a version of the same Gamebryo engine as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and is being developed by the team responsible for that game"

Here is a video of Oblivion IV running on an ATI HD 3850 using Ultra Quality settings and a resolution of 1280 x 1024. No AA was used because HDR was enabled.

What I'm trying to say is that if Oblivion IV runs well on your card Fallout 3 is likely to run well also. However, Fallout 3 does use an enhanced version of the original engine, so you may find yourself reducing the graphical settings somewhat. I think it's safe to say that it will still perform better than Crysis and ClearSky :)

If you can, wait a while for some benchies to appear. Or just get a new graphics card... the rest of your system is fine!
 
yougamers.com have their 'game-o-meter' thingie which has the Fallout 3 specs coverted to 3D Mark scores. To see how yours would compare just log on.

Not the most accurate test but better than nothing.
 
bummer i thought lmited edition will include everything + the man with power armor and it is just the game and the power armor action figure

Sounds like VATS is just the cheat mode gimmick I dreaded it would be.

I read the same on NMA webby and found it a lil disheartening, however, 1 negative PREVIEW does not a bad game make. Have a nuka-cola and sit back, relax and wait patiently for it to arrive :)

Surely only if you use it as such? I certainly wont be using it all the time as I imagine my play style to include a mix of pure FPS combat and VATS.

Sounds a little harsh tbh but I could be wrong :(

I can see myself using it when I'm opposing a superior force or creature. Or perhaps for the simple joy of watching my weapons tear limbs off in slow motion :D You know, when I'm in the mood lol.

well anyway it is fallout 3 and even if its is not that good true fallout fan has to buy it and. there still will be good profit for creators
