The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

Quick question:

Does anyone know how the Charisma trait affects the speech options?

For example, would a character with charisma=8 and a speech-stat of 75 have greater success with NPC speech options than a character with charisma=2 and speech-stat of 75? I've tried googling for a breakdown of exactly how the charisma trait works, but I haven't found anything.

Obviously having a high charisma trait will give some charisma-specific speech options (just like intelligence, strength etc), but is there anything more to it?
 
Charisma gives a boost to barter and speech skills i think, which means the higher it is the more points are in the barter speech category, so having 8 charisma and 75 speech means less level up points into than 2 charisma for 75 speech.
 
I'm finding it hard to find ammo and healthy weapons let alone the money to repair them, I'm now at the point where I need to rescue Red as I can't find the Family just yet but the Police Station is heavily guarded and too much for me too take... I need ammo! :(

For anyone experiencing lack of console access (both ' and ` key doesnt bring it up) there is a solution.

If you have a remote control for your PC via a RF receiver then disable/uninstall it > load up FO3 and now you can access the console. I remember the same issue with Oblivion but then its the same engine so.

you repair weapons yourself by picking up another of the said weapon you wish to repair then on weapon selection screen hit R it uses the second weapon as parts

I'm currently stuck on return to vault 101 seems there's no choice but to kill the overseer

If you haven't already, do the Supa Mart (I think that's what it called) thingy for the bonkers chick in Megaton; there's a load of ammo in there. The Family are through a subway entrance on the north side of the small lake near Arafu. If you take the evil route and massacre them all you will get absolutely shed-loads of gear from the bodies and the containers in the base.
 
is it me or u cant kill children in a game ? some kid called me a**hole in river city fired few shots in his head and his health was still full :eek:?

edit: old good days of f2 when u could kill any child

I fired Charon and recruted Clover from Paradise Hills.

I also found out that you can give your party member different guns and armor so I gave her a nice 10mm machinegun and a female oufit.

Works fine for me. It seems to show up about 5% to 10% of the time im in vats comabt, and each time it shows up it always insta kills on its first shot (although it continues to unload the rest of its ammo from the revolver onto the target).

I remember sniping the slavers at the Lincoln memorial from very long distance, and several times the stranger showed up, which was great as i couldnt do much damage at the range i was at, but he could insta kill them for me, and i was safe.

He only shows up ~10% of the time and only when the target isn't killed, I sometimes hear the sound when the target is killed by me but of course he does not show up as the target is killed.
 
Whats the deal with Charon! I hired him off that Azhkaral(spelling?) bloke after disposing of Greta, then Charon tells you he has some business to take care of and goes and kills Azhkaral. So i decided to loot Azhkarals fridge after taking the key of his corpse to no objection. Then I unlock his safe and as soon as i do everybody in the room including Charon starts shooting me!

I got the same the first time I tried to get Charon, I quit and loaded an earlier save and did it again but this time I did not do anything with Azhkaral and left with my new buddy.
