What perks have people been going for?

It seems to me that the two most important perks are the 'educated' and 'comprehension' perks from the level 4 list, both of which should be taken right away to maximise their effectiveness. Aside from that, I go for damage reduction / improvements options, and VATS-improvement perks :) Where there isn't a perk that I particularly I want, I just do the 'intense training' perk and up my SPECIAL stats.
 
Make sure you dont raise your SPECIAL stats too high, 10 is the max, so if you raise a stat to 10, then pick up the bobblehead for that stat, you have just wasted 1 point because that 11th point doesn't count. Im not too sure about drugs that boost stats, but i think they dont work beyond 10 as well.

Nope - they don't. 10 is always the max :)

There are other ways to raise certain SPECIAL stats as well, like the 'ant sight / ant might' from the ant-doctor, or the lucky 8-ball from the kid in big town.
 
I am sure that most of you know this but for others short of cash head over to Arlington Library (on the left hand side of the river at the bottom right of the map). You can make 1,000 caps by finding old books.
 
100 caps a book made loads doing that. I also got paid 2600 odd for finding new locations for the rangers. I usually sell fag cartons to make money or scrap metal to the water guy in megaton or theres a guy in underworld that pays for scrap metal.

Thats the best one if you've had enough of being killed by those grizzly things. Always fun to watch them kill the traders too :D even better when they suddenly come to your aid when you're nearly dead.

I collected a load of scrap and have yet to find the water guy again after he asked me to collect the scrap.

He never seems to be at the treatment plant or the bar where I first met him.

I'm having this problem also.

I even killed everyone in Megaton/went in their houses and he still didn't appear.
 
Has anyone else here had trouble getting AA to work? I have it set to over-ride and 8x in CCC but in-game it just looks like there is no AA applied at all...

HDR is enabled but I thought ATI could do ADR + AA with no issues? :confused:
