The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

Much obliged for the help. Nothing could insult my intelligence with regard to the computer terminals, as right now I am just getting locked out with every attempt. Slightly embarrassing that my problem solving skills have been blown out of the water after a few hours of a computer game!

As for the lock picks, I had some bobby pins, but sold them...time to find some more...

I guessed all my hacking attempts, i generally try the words ending with 'ing' 1st if there is 3 correct letters then i know that its going to be one of those words, never used the bracket technique.
As for lockpicking the genral rule is if u see the bobby pin drop down in the lock then quit and retry as its about to break, espically if you only have a couple left.
 
just starting to really get into it now, always encumbered with too many weapons, got laser stuff, missiles, mini nukes, sawn off, combat shotty etc.
Doing this wasteland book quest and after helping some kid called billie out lol

found the scrapyard and though i might find a motorbike brake so I could build the shishkebab thing, but the dog in the yard is unstoppable!?!? keeps coming back to life and kills me every time..might have to bypass that one or nuke it :P

edit: DOH i know what I was doing wrong, now have a trusty sidekick :O

Haha, i had a mystary stranger visit last night, and he got hit with a rocket as he started fighting and got knocked unconcise by the blast.

Shame he wasnt there when VATS mode ended lol.

Poor guy :p
 
I see people talking about being able to obtain a house, where I guess you can horde your stuff. Which town, as I'm sure its not Megaton? I keep having to go back to Megaton to get rid of stuff I collect, but its becoming increasingly apparent that each time I go back everyone is that bit poorer!

Played 10.5 hours, and amassed about 2,500 caps. Not even asked anyone about 'Dad' yet, just enjoying side quests. But I need somewhere to keep all the more valuable stuff...

Yes it's Megaton, disarm the bomb.
 
really enjoyed the game, i completed it last night. The main problem i have now is trying to find another game i can waste so much time playing

Am i to late to join this game, pick it up yesterday from local store,
they had it on deal of the week £20, i thought i'll get that.

So far i managed to escape, but i have no idea were to go next or what i ment to be doing?, anyone got any tips or were i can find some decent weapon.

Play it again & make the opposite choices.

I'm on my 3rd go:D. now waiting for the extra content to be released
 
They are only getting poorer as im guessing you aint buying anything from them, the more you buy the more money they have to buy stuff off you, a kind of a catch 22 situation.
 
just got me the upgraded fat man launcher :D

and 11th bobblehead, plus i kinda have an unlimited supply of bottlecaps :P ermm.. 28k caps, but there isnt really anything i buy from the traders now
 
The computer terminal hacking continues to annoy me to the point that I just ignore them completely, despite a couple of previous posters explaining it as clearly as I imagine its possible to make it. :confused:

I seem to be getting by without accessing them, but can't help feeling I'm missing integral parts of the game.

It wasn't a hard choice for me. I always play the good guy. In my defence, I deleted most of my saves last night, but kept a few key ones. One of those was standing by the bomb about to make the choice. So I'll definately replay it from that point at some stage...and nuke them.

Welcome to fallout 3, thats exactly how the game is meant to be, once your into the wasteland you should be consumed by the vastness of the world and as you have literally said where do i go next?

Thats completely up to you mate, I went off exploring and all to often id be heading to one point on the horizon when id see something else and headfor it, its just that kind of game.

If you want to follow your compass indicator that will lead you to megaton and the main quest, but beware you can complete the main quest quite quickly if thats all you want to do.

You can get some weapons in megaton but at early stages you wont have enough caps so some exploring is necessary.

Once you kill a few raiders you will have some guns so just enjoy that "lost" feeling cuz thats exactly what the game is meant to do, and above all enjoy!
 
just collected all the bobbleheads, and i've explorered all the locations on the world map, so its time to finish the main quest haha :D
