The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

I started to play the game with little idea of what it was all about. At first thought it was a flat out FPS shooter like CoD!

I got fed up on my first play after about 15mins of being outside as I couldn't kill anything. I went round to a mates and we started to play on his machine and he showed me how VATS worked as I hadn't been using it :o

Now I'm fully into it. I love just wandering about looking for super mutants to nail, then nick all their stuff, then flog it to someone for caps :) You can just wander around the wasteland for ages, then you look at the time and 2hrs has gone past!

I'm currently doing the nukacola quantum quest, which is good fun :)

i managed to find about 29 quantums in total, didnt get all 30. :(

should have followed that quantum trail or something before i completed the game

Spent a few hours playing: Just wondering, what has Live got to do with this game
Not too sure, but it adds support for those using a 360 controller. Every time I depress the globe, up pops a live window asking me to either create, or sign in with a profile. I just ignore it as it isn't persistent.

I necked a few before I even knew about this quest.....whoops

There's about 96 around the map supposedly

yeh thats what i did haha, i usually eat and drink everything in inventory to stay alive, since i end up picking up loads of stuff on the way i have to eat. Does playing a female character mean a loss in strength too? so you carry less?

I got limited edition world at war for xbox 360 and it came with a canteen but you can't drink out of it because you can't screw off the lid but i looked on the back of the case and said not ideal for drinking lol.

So i took a sneaky peek at this around a mates house and decided ill have to give it a try.

Any glaring differences between the PC/360/PS3 versions?

To be honest id prefer it on 360 or PS3 so i can play it on the large tv, is there much difference between the two versions gameplay/graphics/issue wise?

The PS3 version is the worst in terms of graphics, with the PC being the best due to mods and things like that (as there already are a ton of mods available). Also, the graphics engine scales very well on a PC and everything looks a lot better overall imo. The Xbox 360 version is the one to go for if you want it on a console.

Not having an xbox 360 myself im not sure how games like this works, but are mods/expansions possible for the xbox version of the game? If not that would be quite a negative imo, because one of the things that makes fallout 3 and similar games like oblivion so fun and last so long is the modding community.

Have you got any sources for the ps3 version being worse than the 360? Im likely to not play it through again as i take my time the first go around and i wasnt all that interested in the oblivion mods so i dont mind it so much on a console if it means i can lay down and relax playing :P

Just look at the screenshot comparisons, I assume there are some around on other gaming websites. The lack of AA on the PS3 version is what makes it the worst imo. A lot more jaggies and the textures don't seem as good as the X360 or PC.

Got this for Christmas off of the Wife, was meaning to buy it on day of launch but was afraid of being dissapointed as I loved Fallout 1&2 but Disliked Oblivion (Yet I loved morrowind).

I must say that this is a cracking game and quite possibly the best game i've played for years. Stunning Visuals coupled with some great gameplay for a change, Bethesda Have nailed it 100%.

For me this is what HL2 should have been and in some respects reminds me of it. Its just nice to see that they have stayed away from the bad scripting that ruined Oblivion and the bad Gameplay in HL that ruined an otherwise clasic game.

Perfect.
