The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I was wondering why I wasn't having much luck finding new quests to do, until I looked at my stats:

:D

How many quests are there?

Blimey, you've done almost exactly twice as many as me, and I've done 279 hours so far. :o :D

The one thing that I hate about Lydia is that damn "I am sworn to carry your burdens". Its the exact same thing every time in the same dreary voice and it really gets annoying.

That drove me mad, until she got lost somewhere, :D
Now i have Aela, and she is much better, or maybe because she is new.

I am only about 7 quests into the companion quests, 4 quests into the DB, and i am level 40.
Just been doing loads of other side quests.

I know what it does but for some reason I thought it was +50, also thought it was referring to stamina penalty and sneak effects. Good since now I don't really need to bother with the 3 perks on the left side of the Heavy Armour tree. The first 2 are completely useless and the last one (worn armour weighs nothing) is already covered by the Steed Stone.

With the help of some potions and a piece of smithing armour I found I've upped my Orcish (and Lydia's Dwarven) to Legendary (does my Maths fail or does 65 +40% not equal 91 which is the req for Legendary? I had to take it to 68 before it worked) so now I'm up to ~350. Also realised I had a Blades Sword which is identical to Skyforge Steel so gave that to Lydia and kept the Blades Sword for myself (both now do 60 damage).

I'm really gonna have to try that on Briarhearts :D

Yeah I creased when I did. As soon as I saw it in his inventory I was like "hmmm - yoink!". Then he clutcheded his chest, gasped, and died. I completed the quest without even having anyone attack me :D

Hmmm, checked mine and apparently I have done -2 thieves guild quests even though I have completed it :p. Kinda messes up my stats but never mind.

So, the decapitating power attack is pretty cool.

What's even more powerful, though, is enemies who just get back up and keep on attacking minus their head!

This hunter took another minute or two of combined ebony sword/werewolf punishment after being decapitated before she finally lay down and died. Tough lady!

Is it normal for dragons just to ignore you?

Like when they circle over arriving for an attack etc. they just keep flying then after about 5 mins bugger off...

Had 2 elder dragons attack me at the same time yesterday :(

Luckily, there was a giant's camp very close and also some random vampires walking around so left them all to it, vampires were victorius, waited for them to get bored and then just stealth killed the last one :p

I got bored last night so I gave the Greybeards arrows to their knees...

hehe yeah I did that after I quick saved for a laugh. Suffice to say my levl 50 char at the time got swiftly pwned by the old coots. :D

Yeah when that happens I use Whirlwind Sprint to get there as quick as I can. Hopefully the Thu'um should alert them as well.

Isn't it a little tedious trying to use all the skills you don't normally just to max out the levels?

Well I'm not doing it just to get level 100 on everything as such, but I do feel like I've missed out on the magic side of things, mainly because I enjoy the stealth and archery so much. When I go in to caves to clear spiders etc (ie easy prey) I use magic only. I want to level it up so I can get some expert destruction spells :)

I find Magelight very useful when mining etc.

Is there an easy way to manage the game saves better?

Basically I want to create a new character that uses a completely different style, and don't want to get the saves confused.

Not through the game I don't think. I'd just rename the saves folder and let the game create a new one.

Meh, I got tired of the ore veins merging with the background so as to be almost invisible so just added this. At least now they look different enough to be noticeable if you're looking for them.

Bethesda like to pretend they don't need a new save system, despite the game badly needing a better one suited to multiple characters ever since it began.

Your best bets are to either remember to save it on a hard save slot before you play a new char or as Amraam said, create a backup save folder for each character. The latter will be far more organised, it'll just need you to exit the game and swap them over if you want to play a different character.
