The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

So apart from Realvision are there any other ENB's which have auto-installers that don't make insides look like the pit of no light

Just saw this... what do you mean? Mine looks and runs great and certainly uses AA forced from NV control panel... didnt know it was an issue?

Will take screens.

ENBs use their own apparently superior AA so it advises to disable AA and normally warns you if you have it enabled and disables the ENB effects.

No auto-installer but Serenity 10 doesn't use much/any adaptation so doesn't have the huge contrasts/blacks that other ENB's do. I still slightly darker that i would want but no where near as harsh as the others. i just take my wearable lantern with me.

Ok, a bit of a odd thing here maybe. I was reading around about using Crossfire when playing Skyrim and saw it mentioned that the game shouldn't be played in Windowed Mode (always do out of habit) so I went into MO and started the Skyrim Launcher from there to change the settings. After done it started the game and part from getting warnings that SKSE and SkyUI wasn't working I noticed this:

SkyrimLauncher_zpscfb12905.gif

Great I thought, Crossfire working now ! But since SKSE and SkyUI wasn't working I logged out and started the game through SKSE and noticed it wasn't working now...

The settings showing is as AMDMatt suggested in this thread and as follow:

GPU1 TEMP
GPU2 TEMP
GPU1 USAGE
GPU2 USAGE
GPU1 CORE CLOCK
GPU2 CORE CLOCK
GPU1 MEMORY CLOCK
GPU2 MEMORY CLOCK

I also notice now that the Core Clock seem to be lower when playing through SKSE for some reason ??

Anyone have any clue what is going on here because I haven't the faintest idea whatsoever! LOL

how do I get this to play in 3440x1440 21:9?

You can set it direct in the ini's if you so wish, but I use Skyrim Configurator as I'm lazy :D

Will allow you to set custom res and aspect ratios and a boat load of other stuff without having to mess around with editing ini's all the time.

Hi all,

Well, been playing and modding this a bit since Monday now, all working fine part from Crossfire as you probably seen in my previous posts, sooo... I decided to find out what caused it, since doing the tweak mentioned in first post by changing TESV.exe to Fear/Oblivion didn't work for me.

Luckily I "only" have 38 mod's installed for now, so created a new profile and just started it with the DLC's and the Unofficial Patches loaded. Worked fine starting it through Mod Organizer and SKSE (part from getting the pop ups in game that SKSE wasn't running), so saved and logged out.

Thinking it was SKSE that was the culprit I then just loaded SkyUI, but of course it then told me SKSE was needed to run it. So closed and added SKSE, starting it up again I was expecting to see only one GPU in usage but to my surprise both showed they were working fine.

So played a while and they were both ticking along from what I could see. Then closed and added the mod's one by one and all was working fine until I loaded OneTweak, then the Core Clock on the first GPU dropped from 1030MHz to 441 and 2nd GPU didn't want to play any longer. :(

Decided to check with my main, well, for now my only character, if Crossfire would work without OneTweak and it did... BUT ... yeah you guessed right.. there is a BUT here... :(

Now I have some "crackling" sound effect, picture from what I can see is working just fine (and no Double Cursor problem either) but something is effecting the sound, or speakers, in any case it is annoying. As soon as I add OneTweak back the "crackling" sound stops.. Without OneTweak the "crackling" sound is not sounding all the time but to often to be playable, would drive me up the wall hearing it.. Ok, played a bit longer and mostly can hear it when you talking with others but also when just walking around etc.

Sooo.. I noticed TheReaperGuy wasn't using OneTweak in his posted Mod Organizer load order (unless he has it as Priority 0-2 ? lol)so guessing there is others of you that don't so wondering what you using instead, or if you know a mod that can sort out this nagging sound effect ??

So here's my Mod Organiser load order:

That's been a while and I went with the Stormcloaks so went to the farmer instead of the blacksmith!

Any and all suggestion will be greatly appreciated since I do like the game so far and would like to continue, utilizing both GPU's and without sound problems. :D
Added my own MO load order list in spoiler if needed.

Sorry for such a long post but wanted to try and explain what I done.

Edit: Forgot to say only have onboard sound which is - Realtek ALC1150 - 8 channel HD Audio.

I'm have problems with the game crashing to desktop on the mission Dragons Reach just before you reach burning tower.

Is there a quick and convenient way of disabling all the mods without having to pull all the files out of the Data folder?

OneTweak uses borderless window mode. Crossfire and SLI only work in full screen mode.

As for sound, try setting your sound to 44,100 Hz. Control Panel -> Sound -> Right click then properties of your sound device -> Advanced tab.

I am not that good at moding yet so can't really reply to your question per see. But, if you don't have to many mods and not using a Mod Manager I would suggest you try out Mod Organizer, since if you want to disable a mod using MO all you have to do is untick it and mod is deactivated from your game (still on your computer though so just need to tic it again to have it back). Fact of it is, MO don't even add any mod's to your vanilla Skyrim so if you wanted you could just start Skyrim directly from Steam or clicking on the TESV.exe and you get the vanilla game without any mod's what so ever.

Ahh my bad. :o Wasn't aware Crossfire or SLI don't work in Window Mode. But, tried vanilla game in normal mode and the "cracking" sound is there too. Even tried removing all mention about Windowed Mode in OneTweak's ini file but that didn't work either. Sounds like it has to do with Crossfire being used for me, just tried to disable Crossfire (through AMD CCC's program) and just run on one GPU but for some reason still showing 2 GPU's and Core Clock is down around 400 again.

Tried your suggested fix with the Audio settings and that didn't work for me either. :(
Greatly appreciating your reply though ! :D

Guess got to find another way to sort this issue if I want to run Crossfire. :(

Not sure if I added it to right place but if I did, no luck with that tweak either. My skyrim.ini file is at Documents/My Games/Skyrim ... even tried the one that says Skyrim_default.ini over at Steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrim but no luck there either. :( .. One thing though, couldn't see any mention of Bethesda default=262144 in either file (and if you meant for it to be included, tried that to just incase)
Thank you for your suggestion though, greatly appreciated ! :D

Edit: Darn, just started the game and now the double cursor is showing again with OneTweak off so guessing going back to one GPU for now again, having 2 cursors even worse then hearing that "Cracking" sound.. lol

I removed OneTweak mainly because it didn't work when I trying it, mentioned this when creating my guide, and just used the separate tweaks instead.

@Freddie, you can just untick them with whatever boot loader you're using.
This will disable them from loading, this works for the skyrim launcher as well by clicking into "Data Files..".

@Swede, if you're using MO, you need to edit the .ini files under /MO/profiles/default as this is the skyrim.ini files it will be using.
All your tweaks should be in there.

Ahh so you did, didn't think about the first post when I was looking at that post where your load list was published. Went back and grabbed the Double Cursor fix now though, hopefully that works and if the "cracking" sound don't get worse I might be able to live with it.

Didn't know about that location, still learning :o .. still didn't work with the uMaxSizeForCachedSound=512 though.

If everything is through MO, try a re-install of Skyrim or a cache check which might find some files which need re-installing.

it won't mess anything up and is a good fall back as all the mods are outside of the main install folder! :)

Thanks for the wearable lantern tip :) Works wonders! Oh and I'm using Realvision ENB again but this time with DOF and only a loss of 5fps :D
