The end of laughter and soft lies (Bumper Easter Weekend Footy Spoilers)

Dawson's had 2 great chances, making more than Utd just not got the killer touch so far. :(

?????????????

We've had more attempts, more possesion, more on target?

The top two for spurs have had one decent chance, the rest is coming from loading up the box on free kicks and trying to get Dawson on the end of them.

When i posted that around 30 mins had gone in the match and what i said was spot on.

Not overly convinced by that Liverpool goal, I'm like 250 miles from Ewood Park and even I'm more onside than Cisse was.

I'm all for giving the benefit of the doubt to the attacking team, but this 'active/inactive' thing seems to be a cause of a lot of confusion and indeed controversy. It would make the linos job a lot simpler if all they had to do was look along the line and make a simple, instant, "YES/NO" call on whether a forward is beyond the last defender when the ball is played, rather than needing to wait around seeing where the ball goes, having a bit of think about what the player is up to and finally deciding if he is active or not.

I'm not saying that such a rule would necessarily make for the most entertainment, but at least everyone would know where they stood - less than two opposition players closer to the goal than you = offisde.

"1515: Teddy Sheringham looks to take a leaf out of the Didier Drogba handbook of goal-scoring by using his hand to fashion space before firing a shot narrowly wide."

Bit of a catty comment from the "bias free" BBC.

Cracking entertainment at White Hart Lane for the neutral today. I think Spurs deserved at least a point out of that game, but I guess our luck wasn't with us. Man Utd showed their little bit of extra class and tucked away their chances.

The loss of King, Gardner and Mido was a massive blow for Spurs and I feel sorry for Lee. Despite being the most right-footed left back I've ever seen, he's been reliable for Spurs this season.

Carrick, Jenas, Dawson and Keane all put in good displays and we've got every chance of beating Arsenal if we create chances against them like we did today.

And taking fourth place is still in our hands. A draw at Highbury should do it. :)
