The F.A. Cup Final 2006 Thread Liverpool vs West Ham *SPOILERS*

West Ham can really build on this despite losing, cant wait to see them next year. they play some great football and as someone else said reo coker really is quality all over

Most annoying thing is Gerrard plays like that on a weekly basis for Liverpool but is almost certainly going to do precisely naff all for England in the WC.

Thats because for some stupid reason he isn't given responsibility.
Lampard and Beckham always get there positions ahead of Gerrard.

I guarantee if he was Captain you would see him do that for his country.

...and if that isn't a good enough performance to make him captain......

Roll on tomorrow :D

Liverpool will parade the FA Cup through the streets of the city tomorrow afternoon after their stunning penalty shoot-out victory over West Ham in Cardiff.
The Reds' players and staff will travel on an open-top bus over a ten mile route, with the parade beginning at Mather Avenue police training offices in Allerton at 1.45pm.

The route will then be as follows:

# Mather Avenue
# Allerton Road
# Queens Drive
# County Road
# Walton Road
# Kirkdale Road
# Scotland Road
# Byrom Street
# Hunter Street
# New Islington

Liverpool didn't deserve that. One man team as usual

Have a word

Brilliant game, by the end of it although a Liverpool fan i wouldnt have minded too much if West Ham had bagged it, because they played out of their socks as well. Thanks for a great final Hammers

Pepe Reina shows why he got the Golden Gloves award too

So its going to be like last year with the Champion League? I hope its not delayed for 5hrs. Great game though. I never watch football but that was great.

I know a few people have mentioned tiredness you have to remember that this is Liverpools 64th game this season - that's a hell of a lot...

Two absolute cracking goals by Gerrard and I do feel that WHU's were lucky but they all count. After eightyodd minutes I was absolutely gutted and the similarities between this and last years CL victory (especially near the end with a cracking save pushed onto the post and then missed) are obvious.

Great win and I sincerely hope they have more finals in Cardiff - it's a great city and so much more accessible than Wembley I really think (from past performances) it deserves to stay!

Propbably pop down and see them tomorrow :) Liverpool done themselves proud, despite being overwhelmed at the start by a very good West Ham side. However, a never say die attitude won through :)

It mucks up my Saturday night out though. Gonna have to hide down the Bay. Male/female ratios go out the window on footy days

Saying that though. Proud to have such an event hosted here. Wembley may look better, but they'll never match the noise and matchday experience that Cardiff has.
