The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

Is it just me thinking not exactly wow, the 7970 didn't wow me either ? I want to update to 2560 x 1600 and still feel a single card won't run decent frame rates on that resolution even with current games. I don't want SLI before someone says get 2 .. I like single GPU setups and their tests are using games favoured by Nvidia hardware there.

When is the 780 coming out ? Is it end of this year or next year ?

No one knows for sure. Q3 was what Nvidia said, so that's about all we have to go on.

I think TBH that 2560 x 1600 was released too soon. Well, at least for gaming. You're right though, I don't think the 7970 or the 680 will be capable of providing a smooth experience in all games at that resolution.

I mean as a combined total resolution you are pushing 4096000 pixels around instead of 1080p's 2073600. So basically you require pretty much double the horsepower. That's no mean feat, even for today's cards. I think it will be quite a while before you find one that is man enough for the job.

Yes Andy my hope is now on the 780. Will give the 680 a miss it seems :(. I won't be upgrading my 580 graphics card for 1920 x 1200. It has the perfect balance of power for that resolution I find.

Really looking forward to going 2560 x 1600 on a 30" screen from my 26"- 1920 x1200, but i'm not going to throw money away and only to find I have a slower setup at the native higher resolution. I also was looking at a 2nd 580 the other day and thought naa stick to what I know works well for me and that is a single GPU on a fast platform. Also FSX my main gaming hobby does not use SLI so pointless and all my other games BF3, MW3 etc etc all run really nice on the current setup so don't see the point. Thanks mate.

Unsure if this is purposely meant to be a grammar fail? "ALXAndy you are saviour awaits" just doesn't make sense....

Then it's stupidity, because as you know the NDA is weighted purely in the company who issues its favour.

Mine? contains stuff you would not believe. Basically if I were to leave their company I wasn't even allowed to work for another company with similar interests for the duration of the NDA. Not that I would, I left because they were rat like scum, but yeah, total control.

Also contained things like "We can terminate your employment with our company at any time and for any reason".

Not a nice company to work for as I found out.

I had one here in the UK that i was not allowed to work for another company in the same field within a certain radius for a specified amount of time, i broke both of those without repercussion numerous times bunny hopping between them and £8000 a year pay rise :D to stop me jumping again.
