426 Euros before tax... anyone care to do a conversion and add vat? :p

I make it £425.55 after VAT. Ouch!

Eh? According to Google:

426 Euros = 354 British pounds
20% of 354 = 70.8
354 + 70.8 = 424.8

Round up to £430.

PS I saw that fail eggcup ;)

So because it costs that in Euro they are going to do all of that lovely maths and charge us £430?

Gibbo hinted the other day that it was going to cost more than the 7970.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm waiting for the price war to kick off before I spend a penny...

And very wise that is too.

There's going to be a right royal punch up going on over the next month.

So we are going to be charged around £200 extra :(?

Yeah that's OK man. All you need to do is this..

Fold all of your fingers away, leaving just your pointer fingers sticking out.

Call me a troll, then place your fingers, one each, into an ear.

Then, go "la la la la la ALXAndy is a troll and a rotten Nvidia hater"

And then you will find it very easy to get out your money and buy the card.

No, it's the 660 so about £250 at launch :D
That's the price it was manufactured to be, but AMD under-achieved with 7900's and overpriced them, so NVidia are jumping on the bandwagon and taking the ****.

At ~£400 for the 7970 and ~£400 for GK104, both AMD & NVidia can stick their cards up their ****es. If sub £300 does not happen soon, I will move to consoles and give up on PC gaming. As most new games are console ports anyway, I won't be missing out on much. For the same price I can buy a PS3, XBOX360, plus a Wii, and still have enough money leftover for a few games. Ain't no way I'm paying £400 for the GTX560 successor or a card that only equals the "new GTX560".

Amen to that, brother.

Hi All

im no fan of either NV or AMD, I just like playing games - but as has been said many times over the last few weeks, the pricing has gone a little bit silly (understatement of the day).

Iv been holding on for months now waiting for a new release that offers good value for money and extra performance, or reduces the prices of last gen cards (my favourite hope was for the 6950 to drop similar to the brilliant prices being offered on 6850s), but al that has happened is that the companies are charging a premium for new gen and not moving the parameters down.

I know it stings, but the only way to make them jump up and listen is for people NOT to buy, just play the waiting game (as much as it grates) - after all, how many of us in reality need this extra performance??

Anyway, heres to 6950s dropping to £150 in the next couple of months.

Cheers
