The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

I dont want to get into an argument here as i find what you say very interesting but what you said in this post you did to me the other day

Find me the part where I tell you that what you said was wrong.

There is a difference between disagreeing with some one, and telling them they are wrong before putting forth your opinion.

My rant was not aimed at you so if you thought it was then I apologise. My rant was more aimed at Nvidia who IMO have treated people like garbage with this Kepler debacle.

no apology needed as i wasnt offended by this but it did seem to come across as you were trying to rubbish what id said maybe i read it in a diffrent way that you intended and i dont mind dissagreeing with people as we all cant have the same opinions about things as life would be very dull just think from my point of view you were trying to rubbish what id said but as i siad i may have read it from a diffrent way you intended

Best case scenario for me:
- Nvidia's top end for their midrange card
- £250 - £300
- Performs 10% less than the 580
- Same power consumption and heat as the 580
- 580 gets a £80 price cut
- New card every month

Too unreasonable? :P

Worst case scenario for me:
- Nvidia's top end card
- £430
- Performs 15% better than the 580
- Power hungry and hotter
- 500 series stays same price
- No new card for 3 months.

I would be surprised and disappointed if 104 doesn't beat the 580.

There may or may not be reviews out in the next day. Charlie may have been right about the 12th, he might not of, it seems certainly there is some press thing, but it could be a NDA press event only.

Its very possible that with a couple weeks delay in supply with 28nm supposedly out of action for a couple weeks, that Nvidia could push the launch back a couple weeks to try and prevent a small amount of cards at launch then nothing for a few weeks.

Who knows, its usually after the press events that stuff starts leaking out pretty fast though. Between the AMD press event early Dec, and the actual release, there were leaked, fairly accurate numbers, specs were well known and price was iffy but somewhat in the area. At the very least the leaks/rumours will become vastly more accurate after tomorrow.

104 is not Nvidia's, their high end stuff comes later in the year. If 104 does beat the 7970 then they were right, Tahiti is indeed very underwhelming considering 104 is Nvidia's cheap stop gap until the big guns come later in the year.

imo it shouldnt work like that lol. theyre both 2 massive gpu giants battling it out. one cant release agood card then the other release one thats scraping under and turn round and say aaah well our monster will be released 6 months later this is just a stop gap. imo no no no. what ever nvidia release next is comparable to the 7970, there is no inbetween its either faster or slower. nvidia shouldnt be blasting out excuses its just silly.

So my new improved list about the GK104:
1.)Semi-skimmed GTX670TI was 5% slower than HD7970
2.)Magic BIOS flash gives 40% faster speed than HD7970 for GTX670TI
3.)GTX680 was 10% faster than HD7970
4.)Speed of GTX680 with Magic BIOS unknown
5.)3DMark11 score 15% higher than HD7970
4,)Semi-skimmed GK104 has 3DMark11 score 5% lower than HD7970
5.)Consumes less power than an HD7970 and is a 195W card
6.)Has a smaller die
7.)Has 2GB or 4GB of VRAM
8.)Can use system RAM
9.)Shorter PCB than a GTX570
10.)Is only $299
11.)Has backlit GEFORCE GTX logo on the top of the card
12.)Is the PhysX MASTER
13.)Has single card surround
14.)Is the UE4 MASTER
15.)Has the same memory bandwidth as the GTX580
16.)Does some other stuff that I might go WTF at
17.)Uses a Vapor chamber
18.)Uses an HT like technology
19.)Uses a Turbo Boost like technology
20.)There is no GTX670 but only a GTX680 as the former was a smokescreen
21.)Most of the rumours are not true at all
22.)The card launches today
23.)Availability will be poor at launch

That is all the rumours I can find ATM.
