The " Hiper-Active " Club

Ordered a 4R480 from this very establishment in April 06 and due to an unrelated fiasco I "somehow" wound up getting a 4M580, which I understand is the non-modular brother of the 580w modular.

Anywho, its been running fine ever since, even with the changing components of my pc. The voltages have never been spot on, but i chalked it up to dodgy capcitors on the mobo. Recently though, its been getting hot... very hot. Caught it at 75 just a few minutes ago, after taking it apart and giving it a good blast of air to clean out dust (had the builders in, they thought it would be fun to blast a few holes through the walls...)
I reckon the fan isnt giving it enough air... anyone replaced their 120mm fan can recommend one? I don't want to become the latest inductee in that "other" club
And while im at it, how about retrofitting a small fan at the back... anyone done that?

Add me to the "Hiper-Active" club had mine for around a year now without any problems, Hiper Type R 580w Modular, used 1900's Crossfire in it, now using a HD2900XT.

Yo yo, add me to the list too.

My Hiper Type-R 580W Modular (Blue) is still live and kicking for around 2 years now (24 months).

I am going to be seeing if it will still be live and kicking when I add a GTX to my rig.

ive had my 580w type r non modular for well over a year now, probably 14/15 months without a single problem runnng 24/7 usually folding away.

It is with great sadness that i must resign from the club.

I knew something was up, and this morning when i did my routine weekly shutdown she never came back to life. No bangs or anything, but a slight burning smell. 580w non modular down :(

580 modular running for over 18th months near enough 24/7

IMHO its run longer than i expected any PSU to last.

I had an ANTEC thing before blew in 6 months. :D

had my hiper HPU-4K580 580W modular Type R since July 2005, it's been in several rigs, powering numerous overclocked air and w/c setups etc, still going strong. No plans to change it.
