The " Hiper-Active " Club

Actually thinking of doing so, but worried about the warrenty :/ I might just find a few silent fans and replace them though.

Out of the three I've installed into machines (two in mine, one in a mates) none of them have been loud?

One thing I do like about the Hiper's (and it's hard for me to say that! :p) is probably the lack of noise from them!

If it annoys you, then definitely look at changing the fan on it... make sure you get something that still pulls a decent amount of air though :)

How much do you want a bet you change the fan on it and then BANG two weeks later though! ;)

Mine must be getting on for a year old now and it's still going strong. I think the only reason there has been a lot fail is that they were flavour of the month a while back and a lot of people bought them. I'm going to stick with mine (waits for plume of smoke from back of pc).

I have one of these :

They are apparently Hiper in disguise ? Its the 450w version, silent and no problems

I don't think so tried one of those and it blew straight away in a amd64 system with a 7800gs+ 512mb gfx in, had no problems with the Hiper but since upgrading my system to a E6400 and 8800GTX occurding to speed fan the Aux(psu?)temp is 122C:eek:

I had one and was really happy with it.......but then it just quietly died one day......got sent away.....replaced with an Enermax Infiniti......do I qualify for associate membership or such like ?

There is no PSU temp in speedfan.

It blew straight away..

Some psu have a fan speed sensor wire but Ive not seen one that shows a temperature, most likely that figure is totally random. speedfan says my fans rotate about 100k or 1600 times a second

There is no digital connection to the psu on most systems

Oooh, it must be fate.

My hiper Type R Modular is now 12 months and 2 days old! And this thread pops up!

Can I please join, my Hiper still runs fine!

Yep, even with some fate tempting comments, its still going! :)

I've had mine 2 years and it's been absolutely fine but it's getting replaced on Tuesday as I don't trust it to run my new Crossfire rig :D

Ive have a 580 Type R in my rig,and was previously on my last rig too, over 12 months and going well ;) before this i had the 480 version and its still working too, though currenlty back in its box as a spare.... just in case!

As you may notice from my Sig, I can no longer claim to be Hiper-Active.
It didn't go bang, but it had been making strange noises for a long time and a month or so back, the PC started to hang when it was under load (Crysis, mainly) and would not only need rebooting, but would require the PSU to be switched off and on before it would work properly again.

Replaced the Type-R and it now works perfectly.

Oh well, it had a good innings.

Been using my hiper 480W type-R since christmas 2004!!! still running no problems, happy as a happy thing on happy juice:p
