thanks bud,mobiles.co.uk email says ive to pay for the damaged iphone to be sent back to them even although the phone was marked when i recieved it, what a shoddy service from mobiles .co.uk ,their customer support just couldnt care less so maybe this ben guy can help :(

The law means they will have too reimburse you for the p+p of returning a faulty item.

OK, had the iPhone 3Gs since last week Saturday. Coming from a iPhone 3G myself, anyone think the battery does not last as long (dunno if its me of the new % icon next to battery icon that makes me think this). Also the 3Gs can get damn hot!! Other then that camera is better, like the focus and the video feature, and the faster loading in general.

Never had a 3G so cannot compare but after a couple of weeks use I am now getting 2 days use out of my iPhone.

It doesn't get noticeably hot.

Wifi will make the biggest difference. Will have to try turning off the 3G and see, as have never tried, even on my 1 year old iPhone 3G.

Wifi browsing drains the battery less than 3G and if you are in a poor reception area for 3G it will drain much quicker as it has to try harder to get a signal.

If you're not browsing, have wifi and 3g off, if you're browsing and near a usable wifi network (at home or near a BT openzone hotspot) turn wifi on but leave 3g off.

Yes, it's a pain to have to drill into the settings constantly, but your battery will last longer.

Another tip is to use things like the sky news/telegraph/new york times apps (or any RSS reader) to get your news if you normally browse for that as those apps are perfectly usable over edge rather than 3g.

Have to say I'm a bit miffed with mobiles.co.uk

Placed order at 10.45 this morning looking forward to delivery tomorrow, the website states that all orders placed before 5pm are despatched for next day delivery, even phoned up to confirm and sales person stated before 1pm Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised that they would deliver on a Saturday as this is the one day I can be at home rather than having to wait an extra day to collect from the sorting office.

Got various emails and was pleased at how the order had progressed until 5.45 this evening when I get an email giving me my tracking number and stating that as the order had left after 5pm it would not be delivered until Monday. How mobiles.co.uk can state on their website that any order placed before 5pm will be delivered the next day, when they can't get an order out next day placed at 10.45am is a bit of a mystery.

All information states that Friday deliveries are no different to any other weekday in case anyone thinks that its the fact its a Saturday that makes a difference

* Royal Mail Monday to Friday - orders placed prior to 5pm delivered next day before 1pm
* Saturday - orders placed after 5pm on Friday and before midday on Saturday are guaranteed by Royal Mail to be delivered by 1pm Tuesday, but in our experience are generally delivered by 1pm Monday

Looks like I'll be waiting until Tuesday, I've written them a stern email and I have to say I'm tempted to go into town tomorrow and pick on up and then cancel under the distance selling act :(

Whilst I agree they shouldn't advertise the next day delivery if they cannot honour it, there could be a few reasons why they didn't get it dispatched same day. They are probably inundated with iPhone orders at the moment, or it could have been a bank verification issue.

It's worth contacting Ben from Mobiles.co.uk. Although, it will probably be easier to go through a forum that he frequents more than this..
