Anyone else here have dodgy 3g coverage? Have a vodafone k850i sitting beside me and have full 3g signal but on the 3GS here i can only get GPRS. If i switch 3g off and then back on i briefly get some 3g signal then it drops. Also when connected via wifi at home, even within a few feet of the router signal is atrocious, speedtest wont even connect.

O2 3g network = fail.

Voda/T-Mobile 3g network = win.

It's easier for me to list the places I DO get a 3G connection with O2 than to list the places I did with T-Mobile and no longer do with O2. Anyway, I have 3G switched off and use edge instead as I like my battery to last the day.

Anyone know how much a practically brand new iPhone 2G 16GB would fetch?

Had the 3GS 32 for a few weeks now and it has been brilliant!

Just to save another thread. I've sent my IPOD TOUCH 32 back now, as i wanted an iphone 3gs (32gb) . Does the Iphone 3Gs offer EVERYTHING the ipod touch (32 gb) has - plus "phone" and usual extras etc?, or is the ipod better in certain ways than it's phone counterpart? - and what about battery life?.

Cheers

(sorry for OT)

Hoping to pick my ipod 3gs 32gb up this week from a 02 store in Nott's no idea about stock fingers crossed.

Can anyone tell me though does the 3gs have a aux out for ear phones and connecting to my car stereo via aux ??

thanks ben :)

Well, I'm booked into the Apple store this evening hopefully for a swap out as I'm getting ridiculous battery drain (sending 3-4 emails yesterday evening had me down from 100 to 90%, Location off, 3G off, WiFi off, Push off, Email fetch manual, Brightness ~10%). I've also got a problem with the speakers distorting at anything over 3-4 loudness bars. Only getting about 4.5 hours browsing on WiFi too, a far cry from the 9 they reckon on the specs page.

Received new 3gs today (delighted but as I had already owned an ipod touch I'm not too overwhelmed). I'm on the 35 quid contract which I'll blag under work expenses so all good.

A few questions though. Out of the box data would not work, would not connect to a cellular data nw configured for "idata.o2.co.uk". However changing that to "mobile.o2.co.uk" cures that which leads to the 1st question.

Is that acceptable? Is there an issue with idata currently? Will I be charged for using this server to pull data?

Secondly, visual voicemail does not appear to work, tapping "Voicemail" automatically dials it. Is there an outstanding issue with this or do I need to contact customer care?

Aside from that, good stuff. Cheers, Paul.

How are people finding the iphone 3GS as I'm about to junk Vodafone after some poor service recently..

I'm replacing my Palm Treo Pro with it and it must connect and handle Exchange servers easily? Does any know what protocol it uses to connect to Exchange (HTTPS I hope)

Not sure if this will help but i cant connect to 02 data services today and nor can anyone else i know with an 02 mobile phone. Wonder if somethings gone wrong with 02 thats not been reported? It shows me edge or gprs is working and even 3g doesnt work.

Yup, I can't connect to the "cellular data network" either. By default it should be on idata.o2.co.uk, and that did work straight out of the box for me when I got my iPhone a couple of days ago.

Sounds like something's gone wrong on o2's end.

Thanks for the prompt responses -

I'll stick "idata.o2.co.uk" back on then, perhaps tmw. At least I know I can use "mobile.o2.co.uk" when idata is down. (I'll just hope I'll not be charged for it!)

Any responses regarding visual voicemail? (I'm not too bothered to be honest as I've yet to PAC transfer my old number so will only have to reset it any). Just wondered what, if any, issues people had with it etc.

Cheers, Paul.
