Erk yes. Fortunately I'm not out tonight so will not use data nw as wifi is available. Hopefully I will not of incurred a crazy charge for using "mobile.o2.co.uk" during today.

Cheers, Paul.

A couple of questions for you knowledgeable lot....

Am I right in thinking the 02 simplicity taffif at 20quid gives you unlimited data? When used on PAYG?

Also coudl you tell me what visual voicemail and call merging are? These apply to the 3GS?

Yes .You choose from a free bolt-on. That is one of them.

Visual voicemail is a visual bar that you can drag to choose which parts of the message you want to listen to. However you don't have this option on PAYG.

Now the call merging is if you want more than person on the line at once - so you can all chat together.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy an iphone 3Gs from the US and ship it over? Obviously it will need to be unlocked but at $199 for the 16Gb 3Gs (on the apple store) it seems worth a punt!

I was amazed they were so cheap then I spotted this

iPhone 3GS
16GB1 in black or white — from $199 *2

(2) Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. Existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G should check with AT&T or use www.apple.com/iphone/buy to find out if they are eligible for early upgrade pricing: $299 (8GB), $399 (16GB), or $499 (32GB) with a new two-year contract. For those who are not eligible for an early upgrade or who wish to buy iPhone as a gift, the prices are $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)

So $600 for a 16Gb without a contract.

As MrX said, that's the contract price.

A brand new 16GB 3Gs for £120, yeah right!

lol talk about not reading the T's & C's!!!

Hmm think I'm going to end up getting one from apple in Australia - a 16GB model works out at around £450 and I believe they are unlocked as standard. The only thing that is putting me off is the lack of FM radio - I will miss that.

Anyone else having an issue with a phantom mail? I appear to of got a notification for an unread mail yet inbox is completely empty (gmail account).

A quick search shows others do have the issue but as yet no means to fix.

Hmm.

Is there some sort of chronic lack of 16GB 3gs? Out of stock in town, on the phone and seemingly online to... most irritating :(

I know, really want one, thinking about just settling for the 3G 8GB but know I'll regret it, an extra £87.11 initially for double the space, speed and other features seems very reasonable but no stock :(

I guess you're thinking what I'm thinking?

Dont take a phone from o2, so probably £100 cashback and keep my current contract 600m/1000t/Unlim Data for £15-20/m, then buy a PAYG 3GS....

Seems to work out a lot cheaper than buying it directly on contract and there doesnt seem to be much of a down side to it?

I've had a G1 for 8 months and think its great. Every time I use my friends iPhone though it makes me want one, i'm particularly impressed by the responsiveness of the screen. Has anyone here gone from android to the iPhone and did you have any regrets?

Iam asking on behalf of a mate I dont really know too much about PAYG as on the £35 monthly tariff.

So you just select the £19.58 unlimited web bolt on, and that gives you unlimited 3G use? http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicity

He is thinkign about getting a 3G model, and going down this route I just wanted to clarify a few things first as I might even sell him mine and then upgrade to the 3GS :D
