*** The iPhone 3G S Thread - All iPhone 3G S Related Stuff In Here ***

Eh? That's nothing to do with it being jailbroken that's on every iPhone (well 3G+) :/

Not sure you are talking about? Have you installed any applications, tried any?

Harbor Master

On the main screen (home) from what ive seen you can flick the top and it brings a drop down menu for 3G - Wi-fi etc to enable or disable them (jailbreak)

Oh well that's handy but still only saves about 3 seconds of time. :p

I heard something about the 3GS getting a pineapple logo if jailbroken, if that is true or not I am unsure but I don't want to risk anything by jailbreaking a contract phone, especially as it does me fine with Apples firmware.

I've not tailbroken the phone this is just from what ive seen.

Other than that plan to go p&yg but have no idea what phone to get now hahaha :/

Just got my 3GS a few days ago and loving it, what and upgrade fro my old POS k810i!

Got a few apps for it so far, aroundme, evernote, idisk, facebook and couldn't resist getting monkey island se :) Any others people can recommend? Looking for a good task list/todo app and good password safe type app?

I've been using PDAs and smartphones since some of the original Psions right through to blackberries and winmo HTC's but this is probably the first one that actually does what I expect of it.

Pleasantly surprised that ipod touches 16gb's are still going for £80-100, so get that on ebay and it's pretty much paid half my iphone cost. result.

I had a K750i before my iPhone, what an upgrade. :D

Sky Sports Football app is great for getting Live results of matches and results from others. (including info on formations, line ups and stuff)

Flixster is great for finding what films are on in the cinema and you can search for films and it'll give you a link to Rotten Tomatoes/other reviews of film you searched for.

Shazam is an amazing application, you put your iPhone against a speaker/headphones (loud headphones) and it will tell you what song is playing, very useful for finding the names of songs and to my surprise, it's very, very accurate.

IM+ is a great MSN app, can run in the background and alert you when people message you, also works for the likes of AIM/ICQ and other various IM services.

WikiMobile is a nicer way to read Wikipedia, scales the pages down to fit the screen and makes for viewing stuff on Wikipedia a bit better.

MobileAllowance is good and cheap, easy way to find out how many minutes/texts you have left (if on contract)

Lyrical is a decent little app to find out the lyrics of whatever song you are currently listening to.

What do you guys do when taking your iPhone aboard? Just use a WiFi connection, and just text people?

Turn data-roaming off.
Cancel all diverts to voicemail etc ("##002#" cancels all diverts and "1760" disables voicemail).

And then only use WiFi & texts whilst abroad. (I've got an Airport Express so have WiFi even if the hotel only has ethernet).

Texts are counted as 4 from your allowance. Calls are not counted as a multiple from your allowance; they're charged extra no-matter how many minutes you had left.

After doing the above; if you open maps etc when you're not connected to WiFi it won't load and will tell you to turn data-roaming back on.

Yeah it has a passcode setting - cant remember the time options but mines setup for 1hr (1/5/15mins then 1/4hrs)...

Also has an erased setting if you get it wrong 10times in a row - just make sure you dont use it when youre drunk ;)

ps3ud0

Did you configure your EVE tracker so that you can view your pilot details? (It involves sending an email/changing some settings or something?)

I just found a hairline crack on my screen......FUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Luckily it isn't in the space which is the ACTUAL screen, just on the glass bottom left, so I can only see it in certain light. Still bloody annoying though, I haven't dropped it or anything!
