Depends what you call cheap! I do really like the phone after using it a few hours but don't think it's that much better than my v1 for what I use my phone for (not saying it's not better :p) - Looks amazing though!

Wild guess? £500.

If they could be unlocked I'd be tempted at £450, I'm locked into Voda for the next 9 months unless I buy out my contract. :(

I take it you want to keep the number?

If not just get a iphone contract and stick the vodaphone sim in the bin.

10months is £45 and u get all the free minutes and text too

Need to keep the number really, plus it's somewhat irrelevant whether I just buy an iPhone seperately or not as I would still have to pay my Vodafone contract, either as I have been monthly or in one go.

Also what do you mean by "10months is £45 and u get all the free minutes and text too" ?

Are they pre-unlocked then? (I was in Italy, Spain and France... could have gotten 1?)

@ Oliver.. my 02 box doesn't have a carrier on it.. I guess it's Apple's way of cutting down on the packaging.

The iPhone was pre-unlocked, all that was needed was activation. Something to note though is that the jailbreak disabled the unlock :(.

If my understanding is correct legitimate unlocked iPhone IMEI numbers are registered on a special Apple database which results in iTunes offering a customised firmware (or baseband), which would explain why jailbreaking relocks them.

Yup, That's how it worked for the iPhone V1 (that was sold unlocked in France etc)

I presume it works in the same way this time too
