*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

Grrrrrr. Updated 4 apps this morning and screen two on the plod looks like a bomb had hit it. I wish there was the option to lock specific icons, maybe with a double/triple tap in 'wobbly' mode.
 
Does anyone know if I will be able to buy the iPhone 3g Pay-as-you-go when it's released, unlock it, then use my 3 sim card in it?

Thanks in advance. Never used an iPhone before so not sure if the above works or not?

Nope, and you might never be able to.
 
There's no unlock, and they've updated the base band again on the new models so if and when the 3G is unlocked it will likely only be the early models and not the ones available on PAYG.. at least for a while anyway.
 
Does anyone know how to set up the o2 mail on the iPhone?

I cant bloody do it and its annoying me, ive found the settings on the o2 website but they aint working, i dont know if the o2 iPhone has any extra settings to put in or not..

You have to wait for o2 to activate you, mine took a couple of hours and it was working by the time I'd registered it on iTunes.

You'll get a text from o2 within the next couple of days telling you your user and pw so you can go on the webby and view your bill 24/7..

You put your sim card in btw?

Yeh I have...Guess I am just playing the waiting game I only turned it on about 6.30ish thier...Maybe that has an affect with it being evening/night. Maybe they dont activate threw the nite :o
 
Should I be worried that my phone is still saying No Service?...The man in the O2 shop said it could take 24 hours when I was at the shop yesturday...I just didnt think it accly whud!.
 
Does updating applications work for anyone either direct from the app store on the phone or when updating via itunes? Both don't work for me. :-(

I think I chud update mine threw the phone but I will need to double check.

I just restored my phone and got this....

" Activation Alert

No signal detected. Signal is required to complete activation."
 
Anyone know what sort of avaliability there will be for this? Is Apple making sure there is plenty of supply for the inevitable demand?

I can't be bothered with having to drive everywhere to find one :(
