Whats your say on the Track your order? I ordered mine bout 8:30am and I never got any email. My order status says "In progress".
 
I have an out of stock thingy with CPW, but they are sending it on the 11th July when they get stock, which is fine by me. I wont be at home from Thursday 10th - Sunday the 13th. :)

Edit: but have a order number.

Edit 2: although it says about 'if this is a knowingly placed pre-order then it will be despatched as soon as it is available'. Hmm. Anyone else got this?

Will ring them tomorrow to clear this up.

I ordered at almost exactly the same time. It's a little re-assuring that I'm not the only one in this boat, but I'm still not convinced it's the right boat to be in! Oh and mine's sat at In Progress as well. If I don't get an e-mail within 24 hours of putting the order through, as stated on the order confirmation page, then I'll start to really worry.

Yeah there seems to be a few of us in this boat, we will just have to wait I suppose.

I am currently phoneless as my t-mobile contract ended last week, so I could really do with this phone :). The email this morning said you could order from 8, I cant see that they would have all gone by 8.30... surely?

Not the end of the world if I don;t get it on Friday, but I can't wait too long.
 
If you're upgrading from the iPhone V1, expect the order to fail.

If you're a new customer migrating from another network.. enjoy your new phone.
 
We all then have to go through the joyous event of activating our phones all at the same time :)
 
I ordered at 9.30 and never got a confirmation email but I did get the credit refferal message. My tracking also says "In Progress".

Lets hope we all get what we ordered!

I queued up for the initial launch.. if it's anything like that, it'll be relatively quiet.

Get there at 7:45am and I pretty much garauntee you'll have a phone if it's limited to 1 per customer :cool:

...and then post on here at 9am when iTunes server's are so jammed you have to wait 12 hours to activate.

It's happened before ;)

People on MacRumors claim the CPW site has a not-so-encouraging footnote.

Also, they're taking unlimited orders.. but it depends when you ordered, as to the delivery of the phone.

E.g. If you've missed the first batch, it'll be sent out when the next stock batch arrives.. which could be a week after launch.

It's all a bit hit-and-miss.

EDIT: According to an 02 internal-memo, that upgrade text was meant for existing iPhone customers ONLY.. but they dropped the ball. Royally.

People who registered interest on the 02 site got a text saying that they could pre-order the iPhone 3G from 8am this morning.

Only existing iPhone owners were meant to get this text today. I imagine the people who'd registered interested were due a few days later, but they didn't... so all customers (new AND existing) all rushed to the site, and it crawled to it's knees under the strain.
 
Anybody in/near liverpool up for a mission on friday? Gonna chronicle the experience, i-blog style.... Email is in trust people! :)

EDIT//@ EVH - I'd heard the same thing! In relation to the 8gb.. When I tried to do iy before, they said the 16's were in stock. By half 12, they were all out. I'm pretty sure they'll honour the orders...

Hmmm, this would make sense, but why leave the rest of the site (ie. new customers) open to everyone. All I went on was the iPhone V1->V2 upgrade site. They should have just not allowed the other orders, rather than hoping people wouldn't stumble across the new customer order page.

Altogether, either way, an absolute farce from O2 both online and instore. Our local store knows nothing, I was told they don't even know the price even though it was announced a week ago or more. Same with the CPW. I hope they get some bad PR for this otherwise they won't change things for next time.

Well, the 16GB can't be ordered any more, so they're not unlimited orders.

8GB is still available. I ordered a 16GB and have had a confirmation email and order status email.

When I track it online it says it has been processed.
