*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

Cheers.. So I guess I'll have to figure out where the hell it tells me my number then :p

It's nice that I plugged it into iTunes and it took my name/address etc from my apple id and synced all my important stuff across.. most hassle free phone change ever :)

I've just noticed the 256meg a month "fair use" policy on the contract.. I thought they ditched that rubbish :S

Yeys! \o/
Twitter no longer crashes on startup. Looks like they sorted out whatever network issues they had or something.

Hmm.. if I plug my 3G in iTunes tells me there's apps on there i've not backed up and copies them to my Mac.. if I plug my 2G in (with all my purchased apps on) it says stuff needs transfering but nothing seems to appear in iTunes.

That usage can't be right can it?!

Ended my contract with CPW (14 change of mind after 10 cold calls, been told I can't exchange a faulty phone and them adding the bolt on). Picked up a white 16Gb from Apple store today. Screen is much better.

Is is possible to check monthly usage with 21202? I just tried it and received a text saying it's not possible on my contract.

i just tried 21202 and i get "the number has not been recognised"?

I've just noticed a spec of dust under the glass.

It appears like a dead pixel, but it disappears if you tilt the display a certain way, and is not visible if a black background is shown.

A bit gutted, considering there isn't an Apple store in Wales, and 02 have 10-15 units a week :(

It's definately on the paperwork. 02 reserve the right to remove your access if you are deemed to be using the internet for anything other than browsing and email or if you go over the 256mb a month fair use policy.. or words to that effect.

what makes u say thursday ?

they dont say when they are going to allow online ordering again.

I rang the closest store to me and they said call next thursday for a 16GB.

Did you read the quote? It says they will not be selling the 3G iPhone online.

WTF

Anyone know if thats been actually enforced as the iPhone 3G for me is predominately as a mobile web device and I really want to use it to its fullest ability...

More and more I read about it the less I want it it seems, just such a shame to be restricted by both manufacturer and network provider...

Had my iphone for a couple days now. This thing is just awesome. Best gadget ive ever owned. Perhaps its because ive made a very big jump from a very basic Nokia but im just overwhelmend by the thing.

I'm not sure which bit of paper it was on, I'll double check tomorrow. It was either on the contract, in which case it could be an old paper they printed it on, or it was in the CPW book.

To be fair, it's on O2, so the likelyhood of you getting a fast and stable connection for long enough to download 256meg are pretty much zero ;)

Grrrr tempted (if I could be bother) to get a fully legally unlocked continental iPhone 3G and stuck with T-Mobile and Flext, only be losing out on visual voicemail AFAIK (whoopee do :p)

Its shocking how badly equipped O2 are as a a carrier to have such a device on their books - stick it on T-Mobile (or perhaps Vodafone) and it would be an amazing experience...
