Thanks for this, I've just re-ordered my preferred 7+ from Bath Southgate. I honestly hope that this doesn't have the hissing issue.
I've absolutely had enough of my S7 edge. The accidental app opening because of fingers touching the edge of the screen, the bloatware and the terrible battery life are all too much for me.

In fact, my photo storage is the worst mess of my tech life, I've got folders and backups and external drives and google and it turns out icloud and all of it.

Does my head in tbh but I don't trust any of them to safely store the pictures I'll never look at again.

I've used the compressed thing on google and it's surprising how bad it can make the pictures. I went back to the original file size and I'll figure it out when I hit the 15gb.

You should try it again, photos is really quite good now. I never liked the old system. I had photos everywhere, OneDrive, Dropbox, on my NAS, on my iMac etc. Just thrown them all into Photos now and organised into albums/years etc. It's quite easy to manipulate and move things around.

I just pay 79p a month or whatever for 50GB and integrate it with iCloud, seems to make my life easier.

I have 'Photos' on my Mac hence why I use Google Photos. :)

He's right, it's a great phone, very happy with mine.

The insight you had about people being caught out obviously comes from a great many observations about this very point over months and months on tons of sites, in fact the anniversary model could easily have been dreamed up by those sites seeing as Apple to my knowledge have said nothing as usual.

Plenty of people like me know exactly what they're getting into and still love the phone then there's plenty of people like a couple of relatives and colleagues of mine who know it'll likely be different next year and don't care because they either want or need a new phone?

You can try stoking it up however you want but your opinion isn't "right"

Plenty of people are going to buy this, love it, not feel at all ripped off and just enjoy life with the latest thing not going bust or being financially disadvantaged by it etc and make whatever decisions they need to about next year.... next year.
 
So 14 days ago today i got my 7 plus black....
Today my local store has 128gb JB in....
Store closes at 6....
I finish at half 5....
Probably wont make it in time to swap....
Today is the last day i could have swapped as at the end of the 14 days....

First world problems.
 
Im considering jumping ship to iPhone from my N6P. whats the battery life like on the standard 7? and are the dual speakers any good at all?

Battery seems pretty good to me, a little better than my 6S, totally workable, gets me through a day with no hassle and a lot of use.

Speakers are surprisingly good, I can totally tell the difference, much louder and clearer than previously.

Main issues for me are they've over complicated getting into the phone to the point where I've turned off raise to wake and set it so I can rest my finger on the home button rather than having to press it twice which is a but silly IMHO.

That and the headphone jack.. It's not caused me any specific issues but I've had to give it a bit of thought, more than I'd like but then it is also pushing me towards wireless which is no particularly bad thing I guess.

Main concern right now is a flight to Vegas and back in January, not sure how I'll keep it charged whilst listening to music... tricky. But not unmanageable.

The speakers are brilliant compared to my old 6S Plus (now have a 7 Plus). I used to have to cup the bottom of the phone to direct the sound at me using my hand, now I don't bother. For me it's one of the single best upgrades they've done.
 
To charge what? I'll be using wired headphones most likely or they'll need charging too and they'll be nagging at me to turn them off etc.

Whats ios like now (i did have the Iphone 4) would there be any parts of android people have missed (those that jumped ship recently?)

They will typically allow you up to 30 days to exchange as long as you are buying another product. I'm interested to know, why JB and will you use a case?

I probably use my android phone in the least android way lol. Just use folders, dont like widgets, think they're generally ugly :)

Yeah I know all that, they're a total mess. I'm not saying it's impossible I'm saying it requires more thought than I'm keen on giving it, I mean in terms of official products (ie stuff not likely to throw up the nag screen and stop working) its the lightning to 2 lightning with a lightning to 3.5 plugged into it which is a bit silly.

There are unofficial versions that have a female lightning and 3.5mm on there but at £4 delivered from China I wouldn't be holding out much hope of them working for long and clearly they won't be MFi.
