Going to get one of the Apple silicone cases, overpaying but they really are lovely especially in red :p

Got a red one on my white phone, love the colour.

Only thing I don't like about the silicone case is that it's quite slippy when on surfaces. It's fine in the hand, but nearly impossible to rest on any kind of slanted surface, it just slips right down!

Mine also seemed to start to perish about 8 months after I bought it. Started cracking and flaking in the outer silicon layer, then then bits chipping and breaking off after that.

This is with pretty light use, I'm not rough with it.

I ended up saying something in store when helping a friend to buy an SE and they were pretty cool about it and just gave me a new one, which was nice.

Might make the switch back to leather this year. The reason I didn't get red leather last year though is my friend got it the year before and looked really tatty and dirty after a year of use.

Can anyone recommend a car mount like the exomount gear grip (or whatever it's called)? It's a bit too tight for my 6S, so need a new one.

I get about 6-12 months use out of a Silicone case. I switched to leather a few weeks ago (thinking I wouldn't be upgrading...) and it already has a small bit missing. The texture does feel a lot better and it does look nicer.

Ended up ordering the Leather Case for my 7 since it's free delivery and then I'm not running the risk of none in stock...

Delivery expected today, update to say it's delayed until tomorrow

Yeah I ordered mine for delivery as I was worried they'd sell out on Friday.

What do you guys think of the dock? £50 seems a lot but it does look rather nice and I'd like that on my desk, especially with the size of the 7+

What I don't like about the dock is how the entire weight of the phone hangs off the lightning connector. It's probably fine but it looks precarious to me and I worry about inadvertently knocking the phone and damaging the connector.

I got one of these a few years ago when the lighting port was first introduced, still looks and works great and has the option for extra support on the back.

It used to be called the called 'The Lightning Dock'. I had to search my emails for a link as they've rebranded, I imagine because it's so difficult to rank for that search term now that Apple sell them too!

I'm not fussed about the support on a regular iPhone, holds pretty well, but would probably use the support if I had a plus just for fear of me being more likely to knock it when trying to grab it and snapping off the connector or something silly like that.

Typical, it has sold out. That looks really nice too. I think I may bite the bullet on the Apple one if they have it in when i get the phone

Does it work with a case though? Doesn't look like it as the pictures have the base of the phone flush with the base of the stand. The Apple one has the connector raised on a small bump which means it'll work with most cases that have a large enough opening around the lightning port for that bump to slot into.

Don't you find it irritating having to take it off the stand to use it? I've tried these things before and eventually I always migrate back to a simple cable neatly hidden on my desk somewhere?

You poke the wire through the base of the stand and lock it into place using a grub screw when you assemble it, so you can choose how far it pokes out. Flush for no case or a bit more if you need it. Works great.

Looks like they've really improved the back support since I got mine too, it's fully adjustable now by the sounds of it.

One dock to fit all your devices.

Fits all your devices with or without a case.
Sturdy back support, perfect for iPhones and iPads.
Easily adjust the backing to the correct thickness with just a twist. From 0 to 4mm
Dock and charge your Phone standing up for a clear view.
Connector/cable: Use Original iPhone 3 feet Lightning to USB cable connector from Apple.

Nah, just pops on and off, and you can do it one handed vs a cable which requires two.
