Ugh, my pre-order got to the payment stage, and was held as I still had an old card registered with Apple.

Tried to put the new one in but I just get "authorisation failed" each time. Now on the phone to Apple to get them to put the new one through... 20 minutes on hold so far.

Guys do you know a way to transfer all my text messages to the 7 without doing a restore? I fancy a fresh start with everything except messages - I thought it might pull them from the cloud but they still seem to be local?

Go to your iCloud settings and change what you're backing up to just messages. Not sure if it will transfer loads of background stuff too though?

Edit: can't see messages in the list actually. Ignore me!

I'm reluctantly getting a black 128GB Plus. Prize is crazy but I'm a mug

That's such a lot of money for a phone especially given second hand values have really taken a hit of late. Can't ever see me paying this much money for a phone.

Perhaps half that amount and even then I think it's too much. I doubt I will ever go back to an iPhone again. You can do the same things with Android and more plus your bank balance will be a hell of a lot healthier.

They won't do that. Its a horrible place to put it for many reasons.

Everyones thumb moves on a nice plane to reach the current location but if you move it to the back then you have to start using different fingers and holding it weirdly.

You can't unlock it when its on a desk without picking it up.

You can't have a case without a horrible hole in the back for it.

Your thumb is the least abused finger out of all of them wear and tear wise usually so it makes sense to have it as the usual digit to use. If I am climbing a lot my other fingers get ruined to the point of not working on touchID.

They will still have some sort of physical button on the front for home, app switching, siri etc.

How do you tell where the touchID is on the back without it having a very obvious depression or raised area.

I have an iPhone 6 as work phone and nexus 6p as personal and I prefer the 6ps placement. yes the desk thing is annoying (but you have the option to unlock with pin as well so not the end of the world) but in every other aspect I prefer it.

I have made my mind up...

I have bought a IPhone 7 128gb silver from stormfront

I am ringing EE to cancel my upgrade of the plus.. 13 days to get my £300 early upgrade fee though!!!

I don't want to seem like I'm trolling, but unless you're spending 6-700 quid on your Galaxy phones or other high end Android phones, then you're just getting garbage

You just have to accept that for a premium phone, upwards of £600 is what you're expecting to pay. Bet the Galaxy S8 doesn't start below £600 next year

I think that's a bit harsh :)
I've got a Google Nexus 5 as well and, as a smartphone, it is just as smooth and capable as my iPhone 6s.
You DO get more features on high end phones, but I would argue the basic experience is about the same as a mid range handset.
Certainly though, some of the really budget phones are not great. We made this mistake at work when we started using Windows Phone 8. Bought the cheapest that we could and it just caused all sorts of issues and coloured peoples attitude to the OS and general user experience.

Just got mine despatched today, and I'm guessing it'll arrive on Monday when I'll be away for a week :(

Was hoping I would get it today before I go away... Here's hoping they deliver on Saturdays, but I'm guessing they don't

Oh yeah!
