True re. IP protection, but all the app stores are loaded with cloned rubbish, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Android. Hardly any cloned apps are going to make their way up the charts to the point that I'd probably even see them.
Personally I don't download games with only a couple of reviews and a low number of downloads, I'd stick to well known stuff or trusted developers.
or stick to a walled garden where everything needs approval before it's available and you can't sideload?
Say what you like about lack of openness but it does breed a much more orderly experience. Clearly it also stops me having chrome as my default browser which strikes me as insane and restrictive for all the wrong reasons but it also means I get a smooth and consistent app experience.
