Have to say I did watch a stream of it and man was the diolouge and overall narrative seem really rather bad.
lmao, I know right. Had to pause for a few minutes.
7 hours in and I love it, but damn is it dark and by dark I mean you can’t see anything lol, I’m playing on an OLED and if my spotlight isn’t on an area it’s pitch black, it’s really immersive though and really makes me feel claustrophobic.
I still don’t really love the melee combat, it seems too random and when you’re swarmed it’s just a case of when you get killed.
No idea where I am in the story but I’m not really seeing anything yet that would seemingly cause people to flip their **** and get upset, maybe it all comes much later in the game.
I’ve avoided all spoilers for the game and have made no attempt to find out what all the fuss was about.
Despite being told how bad it was going to be weeks ago by people who’d never played it and just going with what they’d read I’ve been looking forward to it.
I’m about 4 hours in and so far I’m loving it, don’t remember the last time a game made me gasp, but the atmosphere, music, pacing and gameplay/combat is spot on at the moment. Can’t wait to play more over the weekend.
Even if it turns out not to be perfect, the 0/10 scores by users (like they’ve played it) is just stupid.

It’s the 2nd half of the game that’s meant to be awful. I have done a few hours and it’s been ok. The combat is still very dated and clumsy at times. The amount of detail is fantastic the art & graphics team deserve big praise however many hundreds of them passed through naughty dog during production.....
My Pro sounds like it’s in pain at times the fan is going mental I really hope they have sorted the thermal issues on the new consoles....

Played a good long session today.
Just as I suspected from the sort of people that were complaining about things without playing it....it's excellent. Love it. Just what I wanted from the sequel.
The extra space and fidelity, particularly animations and facial features just makes the experience even more immersive. Combat is a little clumsy at times but overall feels better than the first.
Looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow.
No one can hold a candle to Naughty Dog when it comes to storytelling and performance capture.

Personally I think Quantic Dream are the masters of story telling.....

Oh that is cute. They did away with the Grounded exploit. You could hold L2 and be really quiet while pushing forward on the stick at a very quiet pace. Now you can speed up with L2 pressed and still be heard. Need to be really tippy toe on the thumb stick now.

Exactly this. The idiots that watched the spoilers and plagued this thread with their opinion, and even now think they know better than those of us that are actually playing it.

Like I said, one thing GOT season 8 and now this has gone and done for us is provide many lol worthy memes!
Jesus I hope so! Borrowed a Pro and bought a copy of this to play as I loved the first one back when I had a PS4. Seriously sounds like a plane gearing up to take off, the fan sounds horrific. My Xbox One X in comparison is silent, really has me worried for the PS5. I hope they've learnt from this. It's shocking.
