The Last of Us Part II

They can do what they want it's their money to make a game they want to show.
You remind me of Kathy Bates in the film misery when Paul Shildon changed his books and she didn't like it being his number one fan(nut job)
I've played 7 hours and loving the game, loooks very nice on my OLED telly. Have you even played the game or just watched one of these clown streamers or looked up all the spoilers just to foam at the mouth.

Games would be incredibly dull if developers only ever made the games that focus groups said they wanted...isn't that exactly what True Gamers are always whinging at EA about?

I want creative directors to be free to make the game they want to make. When I experience a piece of art be it a game, film, record, painting, whatever, I want to be challenged, surprised, even experience things that I find uncomfortable or difficult.

I'm so glad Naughty Dog with Druckmann at the helm have made the game they wanted to make. Long may it continue.

Indeed, can't wait to see what ND do with the PS5.

It's going to be very interesting to see how people react to the ending..... :D And if you still like the game after that, and if so, question, by any chance did you also enjoy GOT season 8? :p :o

No matter what way people want to spin it, once they complete the game, I think most will agree that this here game is giving the 2 fingers to the "true" fan base of the first game.

Druckmann latest post on twitter is also pathetic, given the way he went about forcing his story in the game should say it all, sadly, people can't grasp this though.

I like the story, Ellie is quite a moving character and despite some protestations to the contrary, still the same young girl from the original. People will have to grow up and accept that LGBT characters are a norm in games now. The whole thing is a typical videogame imo, which makes the whole troll backlash even more laughable.
Why do people keep thinking this is what people are getting mad about???

Sure, there are some that hate this and always will for whatever reason but hopefully once people complete this, they'll see why the game has got as much hate as it has.....

Remind me how did BF 5 end again?

There's a reason why players are returning to the likes of bf 3, 4 and 1....

:D :p

I really want to get this complete so I can see what people have got their knickers in a twist over and what they allude to with the ending, but I also really want to savour playing it.

Can’t say I’m bothered about any characters being trans/gay or toaster tbh. The story is awful the first half of the game was ok but it goes downhill with choices that are a bit odd.

The game is stunning visually and it’s a joy exploring the world. But the story really screws up all the character creation from the first which was superb.i could not care less about the characters in this other than Joel and Ellie. This is just one mans weird vision and it just seems wrong. I have not finished it yet but know the ending. I will see it in full context before deciding what I think but so far it’s not looking good.

I'm quite afraid to comment because people are quite sensitive but does nobody who has played the first few h of the game find
Joel's death poorly done? A rugged survivor who even runs over a guy asking for help in the first game because he suspects a trap simply follows a stranger into a cabin and they casually tell them their names with Tommy? The moment they started closing on them he should've already jumped at someone or shot them desperately trying to survive but he just gets shot and beaten to death like it's nothing. The death is not the issue, the writing is, as it's unearned and poorly explained like many things in this game. It's even worse for me because I know the context. It doesn't feel powerful or emotionally taxing because of the execution of it. It's one of the many cases where chars act out of character just to satisfy the shallow plot and a game which doesn't know what it wants to be. It's a complete departure from 1.

Also, Abby? She was obviously made to make a statement judging by the ridiculous muscle mass but do guys at ND know it takes years of SAA for a woman to develop this sort of physique? She has more muscle than males in this game and in a setting with scarce resources where you can hardly find a working hospital, where does she get steroids? Does no one find her comical appeareance jarring in a game that touts itself on realistc, grounded characters? They expect you take it seriously yet undermine it all with random character design that has no point other than satisfying Druckmann's idiotic ambitions.

Maybe people here just don't care or notice these things, but these are the standouts for me in the first few hours. Not much else has been happening except some tacked on romance with average Netflix show dialogues between Ellie and Dina. The whole affair actually resembles an average Netflix show that gets worse witch each season and the worst thing is I know what happens next and how it ends. I don't care about the LGBT elements at all. They serve no purpose at all. They don't make the game better, they're just there because Druckmann. Complete fluff. And the whole Dina's "I think I'm pregnant"... This is just teenage drams level, come on. Good thing to brought that up now, Dina. It's incredible.

Were it not for the graphics, locations and some good moments I wouldn't even bother watching. I can't actually believe some people are lapping it up as brilliant writing. I really didn't mean to offend anyone but that's what I feel... It's an incredibly uneven game.

Nothing wrong with commenting if you have an opinion while playing the game or an opinion about not wanting to play the game. It's just a few boring trolls that aren't playing the game but want attention so keep posting the same drivel over and over again.

I'm 7 hours in and am loving it so far, really captured the essence of the first game so it's going to have to go downhill fast for it to be anything like the haters want it to be.

I had no intention of playing this game...because I don't have a ps4. I played the original and I loved it and my game hating wife knew how much I liked it....So she bought me the last of us 2 and borrowed a ps4 for father's day lol. Time to find what's it's about.

So much trolling, just to ruin the game for other people. And nexus, a lot of people have expressed a lot of hate about LGBT characters in the game.

Reddit is having a complete meltdown because of "that" scene nearly the start of the game.

Which scene was that? I can't remember near the start.

I'm currently back out in the open after the battle in the water filled car park getting petrol. Or was it after the ones in the courthouse.

Can't remember but I don't know if that is much of a spoiler but just incase.

I was gutted when Abby smashed in Joel's skull but I had a strange suspicion it was coming since Joel wasn't the main and the setup with the fight with the ski elevator carts.

The controls do feel sluggish to me. It must be intentional in the game as you said other games feel fine.

Tbh the game is not that bad the gameplay and graphics are very good apart from the sluggish controls which you kind of get used too. The story is a huge kick in the face of what was built up from the first. I kind of just see this as a separate game and take little notice of the characters. As an action zombie slugger game it’s very good. As a story based game it’s crap....

I'm really enjoying the story, gameplay, beauty of the scenery and intense moments. It's the horribly clunky input controls that is really peesing me off!

Come on, I'm supposed to be a young girl full of adrenaline, not an obese unfit person that can barely move. That's why it's so clunky and she runs out of breath so fast when running, wheezing like an obese person.

Just had another lock up think it’s time to strip down and re-paste clean out my Pro. :(

Was the console really hot in any areas when it locked up?

The entitlement on display is hilarious :)

It's already been mentioned on this thread, but some people need to go watch Misery and take a long hard look at themselves.

Very hot on top. Tbh it’s been really noisy for a while I’m sure I did the paste last year but cannot remember. Will strip it down later and give it some fresh stuff. Need to finish this and have Ghists coming in July so need it to fight on a bit longer.... lol

No entitlement from me I just don’t really like the story. Not saying anything as I don’t want to spoil it other than for me it kind of feels so distant from the first. The gameplay, graphics and world exploration for me are the game highlights. I’m having fun just exploring or until I get jumped anyway..... lol

What entitlement? Characters weren't this clunky in the first game.

What's hilarious is how you throw that sly smile like it's not a genuine flaw of the mechanics because too many get caught up in being a fanboy.

Lazy input controls is not good game development. Many indie developers has spoken about these issues.

I kind of get why some people won't like the story but it seems like a natural progression from the first to me. Not just how the story has moved on but also the society they have created.
