The Last of Us Part II

Nothing wrong with commenting if you have an opinion while playing the game or an opinion about not wanting to play the game. It's just a few boring trolls that aren't playing the game but want attention so keep posting the same drivel over and over again.

I'm 7 hours in and am loving it so far, really captured the essence of the first game so it's going to have to go downhill fast for it to be anything like the haters want it to be.

And that is what people aren't getting, do you think the "haters" (read as.... most of the fan base from the first game for the characters and the story/writing) wanted this game story to be executed the way it was? These haters are the ones that don't agree with the writing from Druckadumb.

Could Amatsubu be classed as a "hater" too since what he complains about in the spoiler tag is exactly the same thing that most of these "haters" are complaining about....

nexus, a lot of people have expressed a lot of hate about LGBT characters in the game.
Yup, unfortunately, you will always have that but the point was that a good game will score good even with the presence of LGBT as shown.

Although this does seem to force LGBT down your throat just for the sake of making a political point.

Mixing political views and games never ends well, sadly, it's the world we live in now though.

The entitlement on display is hilarious :)

It's already been mentioned on this thread, but some people need to go watch Misery and take a long hard look at themselves.
I think you are getting very confused with entitlement and people just not liking sheer bad writing :o

QQ, did you enjoy season 8 of GOT?

A masterclass in how to contradict yourself. really I laughed out loud at this.

Give it a few weeks and you'll find yourself a new Real Gamer crusade to bore people to death with.

In the meantime, like most people, I'm going back to enjoying the game. On ignore you go :)

No entitlement from me I just don’t really like the story. Not saying anything as I don’t want to spoil it other than for me it kind of feels so distant from the first. The gameplay, graphics and world exploration for me are the game highlights. I’m having fun just exploring or until I get jumped anyway..... lol

The strange thing was, there were some areas that felt like the first that made me feel like I've been here before which was pretty neat. That same danger around the corner from the sunlight through the buildings and dirty carpets and walls.

Plus generators makes me always feel uneasy, especially water nearby. :D

Wow! So tolerant for a conversation that is taking place. Really. Wow, just wow!

Yeah the actual gameplay is like the first it really does make you feel on the edge of the sofa at times. Just plodding through the world is amazing and tbh almost worth the asking price alone. It’s just the story for me just does not seem to gel. I really don’t like the new characters that much and the direction is to me anyway feels off. I think maybe we were spoilt with the first as it had it all. See how the rest plays out once I have given my Pro some first aid.

Way to miss the point again :D

So are you saying that all these bad user scores for the game are purely because of the LGBT? And if that is the case then why didn't life is strange, Detroit become human, the last of us: left behind not get terrible scores????

Yup, it must be down to LGBT, right.....

And with my comment, "Although this does seem to force LGBT down your throat just for the sake of making a political point.", maybe you aren't as aware of subliminal messages as others???

Like I said, I don't care about this, I can look past it and for me is not why the game is deserving of its user score.

It's ok, it's just midgen, from what I recall, a "game developer" for ubisoft who will defend anything the game industry does.

Last hilarious conversation I had with him was on here when he was defending ubisofts false advertising with their e3 trailers and the downgraded graphics come release particularly around division.....

PS.

I will take that as a yes to my question midgen, in which case, I rest my case :D

I'm quite afraid to comment because people are quite sensitive but does nobody who has played the first few h of the game find
Joel's death poorly done? A rugged survivor who even runs over a guy asking for help in the first game because he suspects a trap simply follows a stranger into a cabin and they casually tell them their names with Tommy? The moment they started closing on them he should've already jumped at someone or shot them desperately trying to survive but he just gets shot and beaten to death like it's nothing. The death is not the issue, the writing is, as it's unearned and poorly explained like many things in this game. It's even worse for me because I know the context. It doesn't feel powerful or emotionally taxing because of the execution of it. It's one of the many cases where chars act out of character just to satisfy the shallow plot and a game which doesn't know what it wants to be. It's a complete departure from 1.

Also, Abby? She was obviously made to make a statement judging by the ridiculous muscle mass but do guys at ND know it takes years of SAA for a woman to develop this sort of physique? She has more muscle than males in this game and in a setting with scarce resources where you can hardly find a working hospital, where does she get steroids? Does no one find her comical appeareance jarring in a game that touts itself on realistc, grounded characters? They expect you take it seriously yet undermine it all with random character design that has no point other than satisfying Druckmann's idiotic ambitions.

Maybe people here just don't care or notice these things, but these are the standouts for me in the first few hours. Not much else has been happening except some tacked on romance with average Netflix show dialogues between Ellie and Dina. The whole affair actually resembles an average Netflix show that gets worse witch each season and the worst thing is I know what happens next and how it ends. I don't care about the LGBT elements at all. They serve no purpose at all. They don't make the game better, they're just there because Druckmann. Complete fluff. And the whole Dina's "I think I'm pregnant"... This is just teenage drams level, come on. Good thing to brought that up now, Dina. It's incredible.

Were it not for the graphics, locations and some good moments I wouldn't even bother watching. I can't actually believe some people are lapping it up as brilliant writing. I really didn't mean to offend anyone but that's what I feel... It's an incredibly uneven game.

Bravo

I was really looking forward to playing as Ellie. (the so called angry lesbian) The beauty of this first game was her and Joel interactions. You only have to listen to Drunckmann interviews about Anita to figure out where he's headed. I'm sure this will hurt them in the long run this sort of stuff always does. Even some good reviews seem to say they feel a complete disconnect between the characters and what’s actually going on in game.

I'm curious, near the start, did anyone feel like it was like a scene from a winter western? I love all the little details. All the spotlights across the wires, the barns, hay-bales you name it, they had it. There were so many awesome details. I think my favourite so far has been the heavy snow/snow trails and snow crunches through the snow. That heaviness.

Though, some of the woods has had some crazy amazing details. :D

Some of the mappers they've got for these games is pretty incredible. Even the way the strands of hair flows is really nice.

I agree with all of this to be honest, I just can't bring myself to like the game due much of what you've described. The gameplay is meh to me, so outside of exploration the game has nothing to offer me.

So much trolling, just to ruin the game for other people. And nexus, a lot of people have expressed a lot of hate about LGBT characters in the game.

I've seen the LGBT community express hate for the characters in the game, something along the lines of the first game to have a playable transgender character and them being a violent psychopath, or that it's just pandering and the characters are poorly tacked on.

I havent started yet and i know this is early on but can someone tell me if :

If the sex scene is skippable and how early? Just so i can make sure no kids etc.

The lengths some will go to to troll a computer game... Some people have serious hang ups about gay people.

Not sure if it's skippable, I would guess so, but it's when they find the weed factory. The language and way you kill people isn't exactly child friendly so I'd make sure they're not around for most of the game tbh.

Having a dig at me there?

If so, you're assuming I'm straight.
I wasn't refering to you personally. I was making a comment that this whole manufactured furore is gamergate level nonsense that alleges that we the helpless consumer are having an LGBT agenda foisted on us while all the time claiming not to be purely misogynistic and homophobic, and trolling anyone who argues. It's just a game. Play it, have fun and you will realise that.

Fair enough.

I can't say I entirely agree with some of the things you're saying, but if you're enjoying the game that's great, I hope you continue to do so.

If you have issues with the game as a GAME then fair enough, though I have never played a game I couldn't possibly regard as having no faults, and certainly not one that will please everybody. I give it an 8/10 so far, I f I had to criticise something I would say that it is a bit of a one trick pony gameplay wise but then at the end of the day it is a survival horror looter shooter, what do you expect?

As I've said, I don't mind the LGBT stuff, it's just fluff to me that doesn't enhance the game. I accept it as Druckmann's artistic choice be he could've done that better and actually make it matter. I just don't see it as much of an issue, slightly hilarious at times due to the execution. No biggie.

There are worse problems but talking about any sort of criticisms here will get you the "entitlement" treatment from some mindless sheep so whatever. Plus, I know hardly anyone completed the game yet.

I agree, superbly done. This is the sort of stuff ND excels at and I can only applaud the work that went into this, even if I have issues with the story. I'd totally ride around the place for hours on end.

My main issues are entirely story related, I thought the first was fantastic but this just isn't doing it for me. There's a bunch of reasons but I'd need to go into spoilers to point them out, which is a little pointless when discussing with those who are currently still playing and enjoying the game as they're not going to look at them.

The gameplay isn't my cup of tea at all but I expected that due to similar issues I had with the first game.

I'd going to agree with you. Some people just need to have a shower, get out more and be less obnoxious.

Or maybe they just like being helpless victims *shrug*

Played it for a couple of hours so far and really enjoying it.

To avoid spoilers myself I don't mind the story, it basically says their society has become very dark and tribal, and has its own little discourse on that throughout, bit of a linear story but not too bad
