Funnily enough im at the same point, but im getting about 100-110 fps with a 4090 and 12900k. Everything on max with DLSS on quality.
I have DLSS off (there didn't seem to be a need for it) - this game isn't doing anything more sophisticated than RE:4 (aside from it's excessive baked lighting) - the performance really is quite bad for a game with its roots on the PS3/4.

5800x3d + 3080 1440p preset high , bill town fps didnt dip below 60fps but still notice its not smooth rest of the game was pretty much fine
wonder if its the 5800x3d struggling ?
Highly doubt it's the 5800X3D - it monsters everything that isn't TLOU.

there is another section where my fps is 80-90 yet its not smooth almost like its at 40-50fps ? might just be the game

Actually just a wee toggle there - was confusing my fps with jedi - i was getting 117 (my monitor cap) with dlss quality on, with dlss off its sitting about 90fps.

Yeah, I get around the same (when it's not crapping itself and dropping into the 40's) - performance is *generally* OK - but not what I'd consider 'good'.

I seen an article today that apparently asked 100s of gaming experts / journalists what their best ever game was and The Last of Us came out at no. 2. I haven't played it yet, having been really disappointed with the gameplay in Uncharted which I thought was poor mans Tomb Raider. Given The Last of Us in from the same studio, can I expect the same type of gameplay? As in cover shooting gunplay and no reward for exploration or skills to acquire and/or level up?

I wasn't a fan of Uncharted at all, but I loved TLOU, on PS3 and PS4 remaster, the gameplay is better than Uncharted but not by a huge margin. There are skill unlocks, this game is all all about story. You are basically playing a AAA movie.

TLOU is in my top 3 games of all time, I bought a PS3 just to experience the series and then left it at that until a day I could play it on PC.

Great game one of the best single player games I've played but having watched the TV series that took away some of the enjoyment knowing what to expect

Ok, that's a bit more reassuring thanks. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the cut scenes in games I just don't remember ever being so underwhelmed as I was with Uncharted given it's apparent stature. I'll wait until the price gets closer to £20 then pull the trigger I think.

Starting to get bored with this now - only just left Philadelphia and now in the sewers, so not even half way through. Seems a bit too repetitive and too long, kill a few zombies, kill a few humans, linear path, solve a puzzle rinse and repeat. They did an excellent job on Ellie's character though

AA with DLSS is in a better state as of the last patch, but still not as smooth as FSR, so you can just use FSR, or us DLDSR. Didn't see any stutters since the last patch.

FSR has terrible shimmering/flickering on foliage which is very immersion breaking.

DLSS seems better to me with the patch, although I am running 0 sharpness.
