**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Has anyone here with SLI activated Windowed G-Sync support?

Once I do that my cards' performance is cut in half in the Witcher 3. GPUZ shows neither card is clocking up much, and GPU usage doesn't exceed 55%.

The cards only clock up to 885Mhz, compared to the 1303Mhz they do normally.

Once I turn off Windowed G-Sync and only use Fullscreen, I get normal performance of two cards, and normal clocks.

Just a heads up, but anyone having these seriously annoying 'driver stopped responding' crashes, head over to the thread (linked below) at Guru3D, and chime in with feedback and apply some pressure!

ManuelG (driver dude at Nvidia) has started a new thread. He's asking for 'local' people to drop by and help show them issues, obviously not much we can do in Blighty, but please add some feedback...

Thought I'd give Official GeForce Hotfix 353.12 drivers a go, played about one hour of The Witcher 3, then instant freeze up, " Driver has stopped responding "

I'll be joining that thread tonight

Well at least those of us GPUless waiting on the 980 Tis to arrive can forget about all of this crap for a while.

Best to give Nvidia a hard time on their forums btw.

Uninstalling and reinstalling did it for me, everythings fine on 353.06.

Did have one display driver error but I was benching and pushed a little to high :D

Forget about the above, it just crashed when I was reading the Guru3D forum and came back to this tab

350.12 is 100% stable for me newer ones both crash ingame or on desktop. Will retry them without chrome if i get time as normally chrome lives open on my desktop

I held back installing based on feedback here but then couldn't stop wondering if I could improve performance in GTA so I went for the latest drivers.

They have been absolutely fine for me so far no crashes whatsoever in Chrome. I did have a display driver crash in GTA but found out is actually caused by MSI AB performance stat overlay or Fraps. Since that has been disabled no probs.

The way I installed:

Using CCleaner I uninstalled Physx driver first, then Display driver.
Rebooted.
Run CCleaner on drive + registry.
Run latest drivers, installing Physx and Display only, ticking clean install box.
Rebooted.

No idea if this is the correct way but its worked for me thankfully and it might help someone else too.

Managed to play a few hours of Witcher 3 last night with no problems on 350.12. Browsing / streaming is fine as well. Like I said before, I am worried that now I have written this it will start happening again lol. So far though 350.12 seems rock solid.

I've switched to the iCafe drivers and they seem to be better. Only down side is you need to install 3D vision drivers seperately, but it's no problem.

I don't know why Nvidia bother making 2 sets of drivers.

Regardless, nvidia need to release a solid driver and quickly.

I wonder if these crashes may actually do some permanent damage to the cards. Probably not like, but I don't like nearly £1k of gpus I have constantly recovering...
