Yeah I think so. Btw what are the best third-party silicone straps? New to AW, is there a go-to brand on Amazon or something? I know Apple be Apple, but £99 on a strap is nuts :p I'd like to get a few coloured silicone ones, and later on a nice leather one probably.

Can someone decipher this? If I get an Ultra does it somehow use the iPhone’s SIM?

I already have an Apple Watch – how do I get an O2 Airtime Plan?
If you already have an O2 Pay Monthly contract, and you already own an Apple Watch, you can set up mobile data via the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

You sign up on the Watch I believe to the add on plan. It uses the same number.

Doesn’t use the same number. It’s a separate eSim but you’ll just be charged for it on the same account. Can’t have the same number on two different sims. It just uses a type of call forwarding to ring on the watch.

So you can call the watch directly ?
No, although a separate number is assigned to the watch, you can't actually call it directly.

This has reminded me to cancel the cellular plan on my watch, I just don't use it. I did when I first got it because I went for a ride on my bike without my phone but apart from that, I've never been in a situation where I wasn't with my phone.

So I've just cancelled it.

Stupid question for a new AW user (2022 SE). I swear the first few days I had it, the display woke up whenever I received a notification. Now it doesn't and it seems wrong. E.g. I'm at my computer typing and it buzzes.. do I really have to raise my wrist to look? (A slight turn doesn't do it, and I'm sure I never had to do that before). So now when I get notifications I have a blank iPhone that buzzes, and a blank watch that buzzes with neither actually showing me the notification?

Is there a useful site for complete noobs to Apple Watch? I'm going to have a look at Apple's site momentarily but I'm still not sure what exactly it can do. e.g. whether it syncs Apple Music so you can just play tracks via the watch+airpods.

I think look on YouTube for “beginners guide to Apple Watch” etc.

You can download music to the watch and play directly (to whatever headphones you have, presumably) but most people would just use the watch as a remote for their phone. IE play music on phone, control it further on your watch. It detects what you’re doing and gives control as needed- if it’s playing music, podcasts, or doing navigation etc

Had my series 7 45mm for a couple of years now, been looking at the Ultra, just trying to justify the cost in my head ...... they will give me £145 for my watch, so £704 left to pay which I'll do over 0% for 18 months
